German sheperd mix to rehome
Description
We have made the decision to rehome our dog. We are in Whistler BC.
We realize that Our current situation is not meeting her highly active needs. She is a German shepherd/ husky mix, a little over 3 years old, microchipped, fully vaccinated and spayed.
We live in a trailer park, and she needs space with a yard to run. She is friendly and loving with adults, and children. With cat unknown. We have come to this gut-wrenching decision because she really needs a calm space in order for her to be happy. We adopted her, she was 11 months old, we were aware that she needed a lot of space, at this time we were hoping to get a property, sadly, we are living in a trailer in the R.V park and our projects are not happening as we were expecting.
It,s been 2.5 years since we have had her; We are a active couple, she has been introduced to cani cross, agility, vtt and ski touring.
Our professional lives and the fact that we have no backyard brings us to this heartbreaking decision to rehome her.
She is definitely more German shepherd than husky, she will warn you if someone is around. She will need training with her reactivity on a leash with other dogs. When she is able to smell the dog, she is fine as long as the other dog is non-reactive. She has come a long way, we see her progress and know that with an experienced dog owner and the right environment, Hailey will thrive.
This was confirmed by a few dog trainers (we can put you in contact with one of them ) Hailey is a very smart dog who needs and is eager to learn new tricks.
She is house trained, crate trained, good on leash, good recall without stimulation, very good with her obedience training, and very good at nose work.
In conclusion, Hailey is a happy dog, full of energy, with great potential, she is fun to work with, expressive, and a joy to be around but with some work to do about her dog reactivity.
There is a rehoming fee of (500.00 dollars)
For serious inquiries only, we will need to verify her future home.
So PLEASE if you don't meet all of the criteria, abstain write me, this is a very difficult step to take. I appreciate your understanding.
I don't want to be overwhelmed so, in your first message please introduce yourself and your situation, I will reach out to the candidates that fit the description.
Thank you very much, Hopefully, we will find the right home for her.
