1981 Datsun 280zx (as is): selling because I just don't have the time or funds to put into it right now. Not here to mess anyone around. This IS a project for sure. Interior has been gutted and rust painted. Goal was to make into a drift car. Engine was partially rebuilt last summer and ran great before the dash electronics were taken apart. New water pump, mass airflow sensor. Custom fabricated rear end and exhaust system, nice rims and tires. Sounds amazing and looks great. (Single center tip) paint has some chips but all in all pretty decent. New LED headlights. All gas shocks are new. Frame is in great condition. Oil coated and no rust. First $4500 takes it (FIRM), you have to arrange for pickup. Also open to trades for a motorcycle. Let me know what you got.
A tow truck or flat bed will need to be used.

I have 1947 Pontiac Silver Streak for sale.
About the Car:
This car purchased from California and imported by my father in the early '70s. He disassembled and refinished every component as he was rebuilding it. It was a slow process, as he was also running a family business at the time. By the late 80's life had run its course and the car was parked in a garage where it basically stayed to this day, ~30 years later. It has had the straight-8 engine removed decades ago, replaced by a 4-bolt 350 from a '71 Corvette. After years of deliberation, I've come to the conclusion that this isn't the project for me and my sentimentality is indeed costly. The Good:
- The car body/chassis were Acid Dipped and immediately painted. There is no rust on the chassis or the body of this car.
- I have receipts for over $15,000 in chrome work from the 80's (over $30k today). All parts were wrapped up and boxed for preservation.
- I have many if not all the hard to find original components like knobs, switches, levers, trim, etc.
- Rare War-Era Car.The Bad:
- Will need a paint job. Although its painted, think of it just as a preservative layer.
- Will need interior upholstery work for the seats, door cars, head liner, etc.
- Will almost certainly need a new transmission (I wouldn't leave a 2 speed in there if I built it anyways). This is 100% for someone who wants to build something their way. someone looking for an ideal project. If you want a finished, road-going 40's car buy one that's already finished. It will always be cheaper than buying a foundation and building it your way.
Although I prefer Cash, I'm open to negotiating trades and am interested in the following:
- American "muscle" Coupe/Convertible between '64-'73 (OK if needs work, but not looking for a resto project).
- Middle-aged to Vintage BMW
- Motorcycles above 500cc, below 800lbs, and interesting. Maybe a 250+cc dirtbike.
- 1.8L NA/NB Miata
- *Possibly* a flatbed trailer
