WW1 & WW2 PHOTOS OF GERALD & JAMES BANNATYNE IN WPG,KENORA,T.BAY
Description
Hi. Gerald Bannatyne was a 1st cousin of my grandfather.James was Gerald's son.Gerald was born in Lac Seul Ont in 1899 & passed away in 1989.He enlisted in The Canadian Expeditionary Force in 1917 with the141st(Rainy River Border Bull Moose)Battalion. He fought & was wounded as part of the 52nd(New Ontario)Battalion during the First World War.James was born in Pine Falls Ontario.Sadly,James was killed in action in France in WW2 at age 20.I'm in the process of compiling tributes to all members of the Bannatyne family who served in both world wars.I'm trying to collect photos, badges & service records as part of these tributes to their sacrifices for our country.I've included a copy of the picture of Gerald I'm looking for. This is a scanned copy of a 2x2 inch photo from a book, that when enlarged is of very poor quality.I would greatly appreciate any help from any family & friends of the Bannatynes in Winnipeg,Kenora,Lac Seul,Dryden,Fort Frances,Thunder Bay and all points in between! Thanks. Shane
