Job Position: Welder
FULL TIME/PERMANENT EMPLOYMENT
$18.00 to $21.00 /hour, 45hours per week
About the Position
The Welder is responsible for fusing pieces of metal together to join metal parts, fill a hole, or fix seams in metal. Their duties include finding the correct tools to properly ignite the torch and welding machine for the specific type of metal, positioning, lining up, and securing all metal pieces according to design specifications prior to welding, and joining these places together.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Read drawings or specifications or use their knowledge of base metals to analyze parts to be joined
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method to be used based on requirements
- Set up components (cutting, fitting, grinding, etc.) for welding based on requirements
- Weld components using manual and/or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal and overhead)
- Complete CWB (Canadian Welding Bureau) certifications when required
- Operate related equipment and tools
- Work in multiple environments form an indoor facility and outside spaces with exposure to all elements
- Keep the shop/work site as a safe and clean environment to work in. Opening the doors and starting the ventilation fans may be required depending on the work being completed in the shop and/or space
- Willing to go apprenticeship training if applicable
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts
- Carry out others tasks either assigned by Senior Management, Foremen and/or Welding Supervisor
Requirements
- Previous Industry experience preferred
- Formal Training Through a Vocational or Technical School, or Relevant Trade Certification
- Excellent mathematical skills and strong attention to detail
- Commitment to safety
- Applicant must provide Steel Toe boots
- Willing to work overtime & weekends as needed to complete projects or meet deadlines
- High School English OR Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLBs) 5
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience
- Ability to work 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, for a total of 45hours per week
