General Accountabilities Reporting to the Operation Manager, the Accounting Technician will maintain complete sets of books, keep records of accounts, verify the procedures used for recording financial transactions, perform accounts payable and receivables tasks, and support the Operations Manager as required with general human resource tasks. Additionally, they'll display a proven ability to develop and maintain an environment of trust, diversity, and inclusion within the organization. Specific Accountabilities Customer Service * Positively represents Can Glass to internal and external stakeholders, contractors, and customers in a positive and professional manner. * General administrative tasks such as checking the mail, bank deposits, answering the phone, general customer service. * Responding to customer inquiries; in person, phone and email in a professional and timely manner * Knowledgeable about and able to provide information on Can Glass services. * Seek to understand individual client invoicing needs and assists them to find the most appropriate solution. * Diffuse upset, anxious and/or angry clients and resolve issues without compromising Can Glass core values. * Respects customer confidentiality and adhere to all relevant industry regulations, acts, and guidelines. Teamwork * Actively participate and engage in team meetings. * Consistently demonstrates positive, effective communication skills and interactions with team members and resolve issues when they arise * Proactively share pertinent information with the team members * Work cooperatively with Contractors, Customers, Suppliers and all Can Glass employees * Provide administrative support and backup to the Office Coordinator as required Job Knowledge * Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems * Post journal entries and reconcile accounts, prepare trial balance of books, maintain general ledgers and prepare financial statements * Review invoices for appropriate documentation prior to payment, perform invoice and general-ledger data entry, execute credit card and bank account reconciliation, generate purchase orders when necessary, obtain and print signatures on all checks * Calculate and prepare cheques for payrolls and for utility, tax and all accounts payables * Accounts receivable management; correctly invoice clients, track progressive billing, issue statutory declarations, ensure that the correct amounts are collected in a timely manner, verify and record transactions, resolve account discrepancies, and perform other tasks to secure client payments. * Complete and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual tax remittance forms, workers' compensation forms, and other government documents * Prepare other statistical, financial and accounting reports * Payroll administration * Records management of employee onboarding as required * Annual audits of insurance and phone plans Leadership * Leads the Can Glass culture by modeling the values and practices of: Open, Honest Conversations, Developmental Orientation, Discernment, Collaboration and Appreciation * Maintain a high degree of personal integrity and commitment by being a role model for the Can Glass's core values * Promote a positive, professional image of Can Glass * Behave in alignment with Can Glass values and workplace policies; identifies when things are out of alignment and act as an agent for positive change * Communicate and addresses issues and concerns as they arise, with the person most appropriate for a full and respectful resolution * Learn the tasks and procedures of other positions in order to provide efficient back-up and development opportunities Communication * Consistently demonstrate positive, effective communication skills and interactions with the all Can Glass employees and the general public * Seek and coordinate monthly communications financial standings * Demonstrate strong written, verbal, conflict resolution, and presentation skills * Build trust through presenting ideas clearly and effectively listening to others, even when not in agreement * Effectively establish rapport with stakeholders including employees, contractors, suppliers, customers, and external agencies Innovation * Proactively identify where efficiencies can be gained and seek to improve processes and services * Is willing to implement alternative solutions to what is commonly done * Participate in creative problem solving aligned with the Can Glass core values and acts as an agent for positive change Safety * Contribute to the success of the Can Glass Health & Safety ManageCompany Description:Can Glass is a growing commercial and residential glass company operating out of the beautiful mountains of Canmore, AB.
