General Accountabilities Reporting to the Operation Manager, the Accounting Technician will maintain complete sets of books, keep records of accounts, verify the procedures used for recording financial transactions, perform accounts payable and receivables tasks, and support the Operations Manager as required with general human resource tasks. Additionally, they’ll display a proven ability to develop and maintain an environment of trust, diversity, and inclusion within the organization. Specific Accountabilities Customer ServicePositively represents Can Glass to internal and external stakeholders, contractors, and customers in a positive and professional manner.General administrative tasks such as checking the mail, bank deposits, answering the phone, general customer service.Responding to customer inquiries; in person, phone and email in a professional and timely mannerKnowledgeable about and able to provide information on Can Glass services.Seek to understand individual client invoicing needs and assists them to find the most appropriate solution.Diffuse upset, anxious and/or angry clients and resolve issues without compromising Can Glass core values.Respects customer confidentiality and adhere to all relevant industry regulations, acts, and guidelines. TeamworkActively participate and engage in team meetings.Consistently demonstrates positive, effective communication skills and interactions with team members and resolve issues when they ariseProactively share pertinent information with the team membersWork cooperatively with Contractors, Customers, Suppliers and all Can Glass employeesProvide administrative support and backup to the Office Coordinator as required Job KnowledgeKeep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systemsPost journal entries and reconcile accounts, prepare trial balance of books, maintain general ledgers and prepare financial statementsReview invoices for appropriate documentation prior to payment, perform invoice and general-ledger data entry, execute credit card and bank account reconciliation, generate purchase orders when necessary, obtain and print signatures on all checksCalculate and prepare cheques for payrolls and for utility, tax and all accounts payablesAccounts receivable management; correctly invoice clients, track progressive billing, issue statutory declarations, ensure that the correct amounts are collected in a timely manner, verify and record transactions, resolve account discrepancies, and perform other tasks to secure client payments.Complete and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual tax remittance forms, workers' compensation forms, and other government documentsPrepare other statistical, financial and accounting reportsPayroll administrationRecords management of employee onboarding as requiredAnnual audits of insurance and phone plans LeadershipLeads the Can Glass culture by modeling the values and practices of: Open, Honest Conversations, Developmental Orientation, Discernment, Collaboration and AppreciationMaintain a high degree of personal integrity and commitment by being a role model for the Can Glass’s core valuesPromote a positive, professional image of Can GlassBehave in alignment with Can Glass values and workplace policies;
