Hello there!
We are the ASD Studies lab at Queen’s University, a group that studies ASD and other neurodevelopmental disorders. We are conducting an online study called Investigating Depressive Symptomatology in Autistic Adolescents where we are investigating the overlapping symptoms between depression and developmental disorders such as ASD. We are looking for adolescents, 12 to 18 years old, including autistic adolescents and adolescents of typical development. Your child will be asked to complete a questionnaire about their feelings over the last two weeks. This will take approximately 30 minutes. We would also have you fill out a questionnaire about your child’s feelings, behaviours, and emotions over the two weeks. Then you will be asked to complete another questionnaire about your child’s behaviours and emotions over the past 6 months. Together, this should take approximately an hour and a half. However, if you feel that this would be too challenging for your child, we can skip their portion and only get you to complete the questionnaire. For your participation, your child will receive a $10 Amazon gift-card and you will receive a $20 Amazon gift-card over email.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the study will be taking place over a video conferencing program called Zoom. If you and your child are interested in participating in the study, please reach out to asd@queensu.ca and we will provide you with more information and plan a date and time that works best for you. We look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you for your time!

Welcome to Arthur Frederick Community Builders
Have you ever dreamed about making a positive, lasting improvement in the lives of people who are in difficult circumstances? Are you concerned that offers of help too often diminish the independence and dignity of those receiving them?
Arthur Frederick Community Builders is a small organization which has developed a very successful system of providing assistance to people by involving them from the outset of each project. They have demonstrated that it is possible for individuals to lend a hand.Indeed, in a few short years this small group of highly committed people have been changing the world for numerous indigenous communities in the state of Chiapas, Mexico.
Through fundraising activities and concerted effort on the part of the board members and volunteers, AFCB has managed to build schools and basketball courts; to build water treatment facilities for numerous villages; to dig wells and catchment areas for preserving precious water supplies; and to bring desperately needed medical supplies and services to groups with minimal access to either. Please, visit www.afcb.ca , for details and ask for products we are selling for raising of funds!

No experience necessary! Do you have a brain? Do you like to use it? Do you want to use it for solving common issues facing humanity and perhaps make the world a better place?
Many people have some free time due to the current voluntary imprisonment - lets get together and utilize our brains for some common purpose - The topics of conversation are voted on at the beginning of the meeting, each meeting runs 1 hour and allows everyone to participate.
Meetups are normally outdoors at a public park or a Tim Hortons location in Trenton, depending on weather.
Send a message, get involved, meet some people with working brains... take care.
