1995 vw cabrio big turbo 1.8t swap
Description
1995 vw cabrio big turbo 1.8t swap
170k kms on body, she's 29 years old and not blemish free
130k kms on 1.8t engine - big turbo with tune hits 25psi
Engine is equipped with:
holset hy35 turbo with full 3" turbo back exhaust
siemens deka 830cc injectors & 4 BAR FPR
high flow Bosch 044 In tank fuel pump
Aem uego digital wideband gauge.
and eurodyne maestro tuning for drive by cable early 1.8t setup from a 1997 B5 Audi a4
(cable and cloud account for tuning software is negotiable, it can be signed over to new owner - or I can put a stock ecu in for new owner)
Runs an 02J 5spd trans and shifter box and cables from a 2003 mk4 jetta GLI (close ratios) with a new Sachs clutch with about 2000 kms
Has new shocks on Vogtland springs and proper upper strut bushings and bearings
BBS 4x100 16" wheels, new rear brake cylinders, and shoe kit - e-brake is like butter!
Manual Top is good, no leaks - latches and seals
All glass good, all power windows function.
Cooling system needs work - needs a heater core *(I already have and may change the heater core over the winter and the price may go up and the listing may change)
it was my summer car & build project during the covid lockdowns. Summer car didn't need heat in the cabin. Worked great with the heater lines looped.
Power steering system - lines and pump are there, just needs a belt. Wasn't a priority for me... The car is light enough to not necessarily need it... Your g/f or Significant other may want power steering... Or.. Maybe you wanna put it in for yourself? I left it off so I didn't overspin the power steering pump.
Has a momo corsa steering wheel.
No radio... Never came with one... I listened to the engine....
It's a swapped 29 year old classic, it's starting to show her age, but she's got good bones - that's why I swapped it.
She hasn't got much use in the last year since the heater core (got other cars since) and it's a friggin' rocket when the turbo begins to spool... 25psi of boost - comes out to about 300ish hp? By the math anyways... Never dynoed.
But I'm done with it... The hard parts of the swap are completed so the next person can do "the little things"
Other factory/stock mk3 cabrios are asking $10k for 2.0L normally aspirated with a 3spd automatic, This is not that.
She'll humiliate both vehicles larger and typically faster than other cabrios. It's the tomboy car - she holds her own with the guys!
No - I'm not interested in trades...
No - I won't take your pocket change...
No - I won't part it out so you can have this or that...
$12,000 as is, where is, how is.
Insure it as a classic - cheap for the year!
Price may increase if and when I complete small jobs.
As with any old vw - comes with a small pile of parts, both new and spares.
Buyer may negotiate on tuning software, cable, and cloud account AFTER DEPOSIT TAKEN!
