Study Title: How everyday experiences contribute to ethnic minority individuals’ wellbeing
Eligibility Requirements: Seeking individuals who are 16 years or older who can read and write well in English and who identify as ethnic minorities (e.g., Black/African-Canadians, Indigenous Canadians, East Asians) to partake in a two-part study.
Study description: The objective of this two-phase study is to examine the relationship between coping responses to everyday challenges and wellbeing. For phase 1, participants will complete an online questionnaire. The online questionnaire will ask participants questions about their mental health status (e.g., anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress symptoms) and how they cope with negative life events or challenges. The second phase of the study will consist of completing daily expressive writing activities for seven consecutive days. Participants will be asked to reflect on things that occurred earlier that day, while following guides to help them reflect on these events. The second phase of the study will also consist of completing four follow-up online questionnaires, one immediately after the writing activities have ended and three at 2 weeks, 1 month, and 3 months after completing the writing program. Enrollment in phase 2 of the study requires the completion of the online questionnaire for phase 1. If participants are interested in enrolling in phase 2, they will have the opportunity to provide us with their email address to commence phase 2. This study has received ethical approval by the ethics board at the University of Ottawa.
Duration: The first phase of the study will take approximately 1 hour to complete. The second phase of the study will take approximately 10-15 minutes a day for seven days and approximately 1 hour for each follow up survey.
Benefits: The opportunity to engage in self-reflection and learn techniques that could help process and cope with challenges.
Compensation: For phase 2, you will have the opportunity to win one of four $50 money orders. Each writing session and follow-up survey completed will correspond to the number of chances you will have to win one of four money prizes in a draw (i.e., if you complete 7/7 writing exercises and 4/4 follow-up surveys, you will have 11 entries into the draw).
Contact: If participants have any questions about our research, they are encouraged to contact the research assistant (Kayla Boileau, kboil070@uottawa.ca).

You can create new posts and/or comment on the posts of others. If you volunteer to participate, you will be contacted by a researcher to help you set up an account and get comfortable navigating the blog. In appreciation for your time, you will receive a $50.00 gift card annually. Psychology researchers are interested in examining different motivations that people have for consenting to sexual situations during which they engage in sexual compliance - undesired but consensual sexual activity. Hello,
I am a student researcher from Simon Fraser University. For my Criminology Honours (Undergraduate) Thesis, I gave designed a study to investigate levels of conflict in post-separation and divorce. In order to do so, parents who fit the appropriate criteria will be asked to take a survey. At the end of the survey, they may opt-in to be considered for a 1 on 1 interview with a researcher.
Please read the recruitment poster, and follow the link. You will be asked to read the consent form on the first page of the survey, and if you fit the criteria and consent to participate, you will continue to take the SurveyMonkey survey for parents who are separated or divorced.
Please feel free to forward this survey link to anyone else you can think of who will take this survey. We only have a few weeks for data collection, so we are hoping to get as many responses as possible from parents all over the province.
Here is the link to the survey and the consent form (copy and paste into your url bar): https://www.surveymonkey.ca/r/SPHFKDT
Thank you!
Angelica.

The goal is to raise enough money so I can bring people to an environment that would help heal or at least show those in need that there is beauty in this world, when they only see the darkness the world brought upon them. Kid's and adults. The profit part is to help pay for the people that need help to get to a place such as this or for those who don't even realize that an experience like this can be a life changing moment. I've always said if I ever won the lottery I would buy a lodge for those in need, not singling out any type of person, and help them forget and rediscover the beauty of our world, but I don't play the lottery. MY hole life I have persevered through what life has thrown at me, being abused as a child, the divorce of my parents as a young child, having to help take care of my younger siblings as my father worked odd hours and shifts to provide, the deaths of my god children and grand mother in a house fire and many injuries.
I have so much passion burning inside me for my dream I just couldn't take it anymore, so I'm reaching out to you all. I'm always saying my dream job would be to make the lives of someone who needs a restart or to help them forget about life's pain, whether a person was abused or is sick or has an addiction it doesn't matter to me I will put a smile on a face that hasn't smiled in a while, I just wants to show a person life can be good, the outdoors is a great healer as it has helped myself, so I know first hand.
I am not looking for a free ride I is willing to put his life savings to accomplish this goal, and my goal is to help someone heal from the heart, even when I was hurting on the inside I was always smiling they call me smiley because I want to make others smile.
I have given my heart , soul, blood and my health to my all employers . I have helped build Hospitals, schools, our government buildings our work places and even our homes for decades and am so proud to have contributed to society and never wanting any glory.
I literally feel other peoples pain, on so many occasions I feel it in my body when someone is hurting or feels pain, or when injured, I shed tears for those I feel merciful for, whether its in person or even on t.v.
My mother was a missionary she travelled to countries when they had disasters to help the needy, I know I have her gift of wanting to help others.
I love wild life and taking pictures of outdoor scenery, for every donation I will try to give a digital picture that I have taken for you to use at your will through an email or other
Please help us to help someone.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read about my dream.
