Position available: Ophthalmic Technician/Assistant (1 position is available; full time)
Position Summary: Performs basic patient care and ophthalmic testing procedures as directed by physician or supervisors in a fast paced and high-volume practice. Performs clerical functions and assists with basic training of MOA.
Responsibilities:
Provide exemplary customer service
Performing Humphrey visual field tests
Obtaining Optical Coherent Tomography (OCT) images
Doing IOL measurements
Administering eye drops
Taking medical history
Efficiently and accurately documenting all pertinent information in patient records (EMR)
Maintaining, calibrating and cleaning all equipment used throughout the day
Returning phone calls to patients and other healthcare professionals in a timely manner
Other duties as assigned
Skills:
Excellent patient service skills
Strong computer skills, highly skilled in previous EMR experience preferably with Accuro
Ability to quickly grasp and adapt to new programs and equipment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Self-motivation to deliver excellent quality results
Present a cheerful, friendly and professional image to patients and fellow employees
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision
Qualifications:
Experience working in the eye care industry is an asset
MOA certificate
Salary: Depending on experience and knowledge (Average $20 - $23)
