Located on a quiet cottage backroad - fantastic for family walks and bike rides. 60 minutes to Sir Sam's Ski Resort and 2 minutes to Silent Lake Provincial Park with cross country ski trails and biking trails. Sleeps 8 people. During the winter season, the cottage sleeps 6 comfortably. (The extra sleeping for 2 is the front room which has a pull out couch and indirect heat in winter.)A private cottage located on 3/4 of an acre on a quiet side road; great for biking & walking. Come and stay at the landmark historic 'Bemaba Lodge' cottages, with 25 acres of forested and grassy playground all to yourself, including over 400 ft. of frontage on Kawagama Lake, the largest Lake in Haliburton County. Swim, boat, fish for abundant Bass and Lake Trout right off the dock, or for even more privacy, we have a separate 6-acre private STOCKED lake with a small sandy beach for the kids. (The kids love it, because it is brimming with minnows, is stocked with Rainbow Trout and has a paddle boat, and you can even spot painted turtles if you look for them.) All of this, surrounded by the Boreal Forest that the Muskokas and Haliburton are famous for, and a short car ride from the famous Algonquin Park.
The two Bemaba Lodge cottages have it all, with a drilled well and UV/Filter system delivering safe drinking water, a full septic system, and 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms in the main cottage PLUS 2 more bedrooms and a second full kitchen and bath in the second cottage. As well, there is a big screened in porch on the front of the main cottage, and a lovely natural stone fireplace. We also have natural pine floors, and 2 spacious and modern kitchens filled with natural light. And, with the country ambiance of a stunning Cedar Log interior, you will feel like you have really arrived in the great outdoors. Play the piano to your friends, or sit around the fire pit in the evening with acres of room to roam. The lot is rock level, with a huge front lawn and steps down to the large dock, where you can moor your boat, swim, and watch the sunsets. Or if it rains, you can sit on the spacious covered screened-in porch on the main cottage and just enjoy the fabulous view of the lake, protected from the bugs. It just doesn't get any better!
The second, fully equipped 2-bedroom cottage also has a modern kitchen and 3-piece bath with shower, and features a queen bed in each of the 2 bedrooms. (Your booking includes both cottages.)
You can launch your boat for free at our on-site private boat launch, and there are two Marinas on the lake as well as miles and miles of boating. The Marinas rent out fishing boats, ski boats, pontoon boats, and even jet skis. (We ourselves supply two canoes and a rowboat for you, as well as life jackets and a paddle boat for the small lake.)

The lake is carved out of the Frontenac Axis, a relatively narrow extension of the Canadian Shield bedrock which dominates the landscape of Northern Ontario. The lake is the principal watershed for the Gananoque River, and boasts prime fishing locations. Charleston Lake Provincial Park is located on the shores of the lake, and offers camping, hiking, boating, fishing and interpretive sessions.
Charleston Lake has over 100 miles of shoreline and over 100 islands with over 800 summer and permanent residences on the lake. The water surface is 26.2 km2, and the maximum depth is 91.1 m. A naturally occurring rock and tree formation shows a profile of the guardian of Charleston Lake known as Indian Head.[1] Other than Charleston Lake Provincial Park, the County Park and Sand Bay are excellent destinations for day trips.
Boats, Canoes and Kayaks are not included but you are welcome to bring your own, or rent a boat from the marinas 5 mins away in Charleston Village.

Our fully furnished two story cottage is for rent at Elk Ridge Resort. With two bedrooms, a pull out couch and two full baths, this home comfortably sleeps six. The master bedroom is upstairs with private bathroom and includes a large walk in closet. The second bedroom is on the main floor with two single beds. All linens and towels are provided, along with a stocked kitchen and bbq. The cabin includes three tvs and satellite. Strictly no pets or smoking allowed.
In winter a wonderland awaits you, with activities including skidoo trails, cross country ski trails, toboganning hill, skating, crokicurl and curling. In summer, enjoy hiking and golfing or take a five minute drive to our National park, Waskesiu!

Embrace the rural spirit; take in the Saint John River, the historic life thread of the St. John Valley where "progress" can still be a naughty word. A private 11 acre property located on the St. John River with scenic vistas overlooking some of its largest expanses. Spectacular sunsets over the river and Sisters Mountains are an added bonus for you to enjoy from the deck or 2 private beaches. The Town of Grand Bay / Westfield is conveniently located a short cable ferry ride away (a free service provided by the Province of New Brunswick) and the City of Saint John is within a 25 minute drive.
The cottage has large sitting/ dining room, kitchen, 3 bedrooms, bathroom with shower and a wrap around deck on the south and west sides. Outdoor barbecue, microwave, kitchen utensils, television and DVD are included. If you get a chill cozy up in front of the electric fireplace but thank you for not smoking in the cottage and sorry but no pets. Bedding can be provided at an extra charge.
