If you are looking for the ultimate in reducing noise and sound transfer between floors and, raise the temperature in your home look no further than our ½” = 12mm cork underlayment. This cork is a full half inch of loveliness. Cork helps protect your floor and subfloor from rot and degradation, so is prefect in new builds or condos. Cork is a natural insulator, so it can help keep your home warmer in winter and cooler in summer.

This is EXTREMELY high. The only thing that will compare = SOLID rubber. Rubber (solid black rubber underlay) is the closest you will get. The ratio of cork: rubber is 3:2. That means 8mm rubber will equal 12mm cork. To find this thickness in rubber is EXTREMELY difficult. A rubber underlayment of this thickness = $5-$8/sf. Most “vinyl specific underlay” is around 2mm thick (some are 1.8mm...others are 1.2mm). These will NOT be equal to 12mm cork.
To be clear, acoustic ratings of acoustic 5/8” drywall = 18 dB.
The 48 dB of acoustic insulation that is more than some people's subfloors! The Forna 12mm cork floating flooring will offer 19 dB by itself. Added together (48 + 19) and you get a MASSIVE number = 67 dB. To be clear, an 8" concrete slab achieves 36 dB worth of acoustic insulation!!!!
A “good” rating for underlayment + floor is a Delta IIC 14.0 dB. That means the underlay+floor combination will “eat” 14 dB worth of noise in the space. Fourteen dB is a “good” rating. Not many underlays achieve that level.
In cold areas, most of our clients like to work with the 6mm or 12mm cork underlayment. This, plus Forna floating cork flooring, can raise the temperature in the basement by as much as 7 Celsius (13 fahrenheit) without turning up the heat. In fact, many people find they turn down the heat once cork floating flooring with 6mm cork underlayment has been installed.
A combination such as above (6mm cork underlay + cork floating floor) can reduce heating/cooling costs by as much as 30% for that space. The 12mm cork underlay + 11mm floating floor will raise the temperature in the basement by 12 – 15 deg. Celsius
All of our clients who have worked with the Forna 6mm and 12mm underlayment have been EXTREMELY pleased with the cushion, the thermal insulation and the acoustic insulation (the basement gets VERY quiet once cork is installed).
We carry cork underlayment with the highest density rating possible: 190-220kg/cubic meter, which is the highest in the business. Most business carry 180 kg/cubic meter.

When looking at vinyl flooring products for condominiums and apartments, a Fusion cork floor can offer more than just a tough finish it can offer soundproofing as well. Not many people realize the limitations of vinyl flooring products. The single largest concern with vinyl floors (LVP/LVT) is the lack of noise suppression.
Fusion-Cork floating floor planks from Forna allow for 6mm and even 12mm cork acoustic underlayment. This is a massive improvement compared to the ultra-thin under pads normally allowed with vinyl planks (3mm cork is the thickest allowable and not all vinyl planks are allowed under pad).
Forna's Fusion-Cork planks mix the best of both worlds: a tough finish mounted onto a cork click together plank that is designed for use with acoustic underlayment as much as 12mm cork underlay can be used with these planks. Electrical components and electrically operated lifting and rolling mechanisms have a limited warranty against manufacturing faults and defects for 1 year from the date of purchase. Care should be taken that frame is not set upon any electrical cords. Variant difference in voltage/current ratios can damage electrical components. Electrical components should not be placed in a wet or damp area which could risk shock or fire.
Padding and foam have a limited warranty against defects for 1 year from the date of purchase under normal domestic use. To keep your cushions new and fluffy, avoid sitting in one area constantly and use the seating areas evenly. It is also important not to lean, sit or reach over the back cushions of furniture. The warranty does not cover defects arising from the above misuse of the cushions.
Leather has a limited warranty against defects for 1 year from the date of purchase under normal domestic use. Leather must be cleaned in accordance with our ‘Furniture Care’ Guide. Please note that the warranty does not cover soiling, fading, stretching, wrinkling, and creasing arising from negligence, misuse, accidents, and improper cleaning. It is important to note that no two pieces of leather are similar, leather has natural wrinkles as well as all leather have slight color, texture, and grain variations. Some of our collections use a unique hand-rubbed leather upholstery. The intricate hand-rubbing process results in a multi-toned leather color, which means that the overall leather is not solid color, it is a mixture of multiple color tones. Leather is inclined to stretch and will show up as creasing on cushion tops.
