Jan 20 | Average Citizens | Rich Glow | THE VAT
TICKETS HERE : https://www.eventbrite.ca/.../average-citizens-ft-rich...
Vancouver-based DJ duo and power couple Average Citizens met and fell in love at Coachella 10 years ago. Since then, they have been wobbling dance floors across Canada, Latin America and the U.K. with energetic performances that exhilarate audiences and spread a lust for more bass, just like a hot Coachella love affair.
Their new single, "Ima Work," released on U.K. label 3000 Bass, is a testament to the work it takes to gain notoriety and success, and proclaim that they are anything but average. The track was written to convey how much work it has taken to emerge in the post-pandemic world and survive in the entertainment industry.

2024 BOOK SIGNING TOUR - IMMEDIATE PRESS RELEASE-Since first stepping in front of MuchMusic’s national cameras in 1992, Bill Welychka has become one of Canada’s most enduring, recognizable and respected television personalities. He is MuchMusic and MuchMoreMusic’s longest running VJ.
Bill is renowned for his thoughtful interview style and his love and knowledge of a wide range of topics from pop-culture to politics, and his reputation has been rewarded by many exclusives and awards.Bill Welychka has been hearing for decades “You should write a book!” Well, that book is here and ready to be enjoyed by his large number of ardent followers. Any fan of music (country, pop, rock, rap, metal etc.) will be entertained by his stories of hanging out with many of the industry’s biggest stars.
“A Happy Has-Been (Exciting Times and Lessons Learned by One of Canada's Foremost Entertainment Journalists)” dives into the many tales of spending time with Madonna (at her house),
Mick Jagger, Oasis, AC/DC, Johnny Cash, members of The Beatles, David Bowie, Led Zeppelin, Garth Brooks, Prince and dozens of other music legends.
Bill writes about his world travels from spending time with the Maasai warriors on the Serengeti to covering the World Music Awards in Monte Carlo, Monaco six years in a row. Despite a career that had him mobbed at concerts and meeting every single idol he had; Bill also opens up about his battles with depression. Also, this celebrated media icon shares the important life-lessons he has learned during his blessed life.2023 marked the 35th year of his dedication and insight to both sides of the camera including 12 years as Kingston Global News Morning producer and 2024 brings his career full circle, with a return to music broadcasting as Corus Entertainment Kingston’s newest 96.3 BIG FM Announcer & 104.3 Fresh Radio Music Director.
Bill has over 5,000 interviews under his belt (and growing!) including film and TV stars, royalty, politicians, athletes & innumerable music legends. 90s retro music is back in a big way and the timing of Bill’s book is perfect…he has been in demand the past several years to talk about music and trends on numerous Podcasts, and there is a new documentary about MuchMusic that was successfully released in September with a sold-out Canada-wide tour. Bill was interviewed extensively for this doc and made a few appearances along the tour, which aired to CRAVE in December 2023. For more info you can visit www.299queenstreetwest.com
There is also a film currently in production loosely based on Bill’s life.

Lk24:13
Now that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem. They were talking with each other about everything that had happened. As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them; but they were kept from recognizing him.

When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.” Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.”

Elisha replied to her, “How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?”“Your servant has nothing there at all,” she said, “except a small jar of olive oil.” The wife of a man from the company of the prophets cried out to Elisha, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that he revered the Lord. But now his creditor is coming to take my two boys as his slaves.” Elisha said, “Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don’t ask for just a few. Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all the jars, and as each is filled, put it to one side.” She left him and shut the door behind her and her sons. They brought the jars to her and she kept pouring. When all the jars were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another one.”But he replied, “There is not a jar left.” Then the oil stopped flowing. She went and told the man of God, and he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debts. You and your sons can live on what is left.”

One of the most adventurous women of her era, the opera tells the extraordinary life story of the complex, multifaceted Eberhardt - from the death of her family, through her journeys in the North African desert, to her ecstatic religious conversion, and ultimately to her tragic drowning. The role will be brought to life by mezzo soprano Marion Newman, one of the brightest stars in Canada’s classical music firmament. Newman will be supported by a five-person chorus: Katie Fraser, Christina Demeo, Emma Jang, Kiho Sohn, and Jason Sommerville. DanceHouse and Dancers of Damelahamid present the Vancouver premiere of the politically-charged and spiritually-centred work, Vástádus eana – The answer is land, on stage February 23 and 24, 2024 at 8pm at the Vancouver Playhouse. Choreographed by Elle Sofe Sara, the full-length work is a powerful exploration and reclamation of the central tenets of Sámi cultural identity: community and kinship between people and nature. Having been subjected to almost-total cultural obliteration through residential schools, language suppression, and religious conversion, Vástádus eana – The answer is land embodies a critically important message about the foundational attachment arising from community and culture, and offers the possibility of a new relationship with the natural world. Through a radical act of resilience, the performers open the evening by guiding the audience through a traditional spiritual practice outdoors before shepherding them into the theatre. IMMEDIATE PRESS RELEASE
Since first stepping in front of MuchMusic’s national cameras in 1992, Bill Welychka has
become one of Canada’s most enduring, recognizable and respected television personalities.
He is MuchMusic and MuchMoreMusic’s longest running VJ. Bill is renowned for his thoughtful
interview style and his love and knowledge of a wide range of topics from pop-culture to politics,
and his reputation has been rewarded by many exclusives and awards.Bill Welychka has been hearing for decades “You should write a book!” Well, that book is here
and ready to be enjoyed by his large number of ardent followers. Any fan of music (country, pop,
rock, rap, metal etc) will be entertained by his stories of hanging out with many of the industry’s
biggest stars. “A Happy Has-Been (Exciting Times and Lessons Learned by One of
Canada's Foremost Entertainment Journalists)” will dive into the many tales of spending
time with Madonna (at her house), Mick Jagger, Oasis, AC/DC, Johnny Cash, members of The
Beatles, David Bowie, Led Zeppelin, Garth Brooks, Prince and dozens of other music legends.
Bill writes about his world travels from spending time with the Maasai warriors on the Serengeti
to covering the World Music Awards in Monte Carlo, Monaco six years in a row. Despite a
career that had him mobbed at concerts and meeting every single idol he had, Bill opens up
about his battles with depression. Also, this celebrated media icon shares the important
life-lessons he has learned during his blessed life. Book Tralier https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5Oe9A-mzTQ2023 marks the 35th year of his dedication and insight to both sides of the camera. He has over
5,000 interviews under his belt (and growing!) including film and TV stars, royalty, politicians,
athletes & innumerable music legends. 90s retro music is back in a big way and the timing of
Bill’s book is perfect…he has been in demand the past several years to talk about music and
trends on numerous Podcasts, and there is a new documentary about MuchMusic that was
released in September on its Canada-wide tour to which Bill was interviewed extensively for the
doc and made a few appearances along the tour, that is now complete, and the documentary
airs to CRAVE in December of 2023. For more info you can visit www.299queenstreetwest.comThere is also a film currently in production loosely based on Bill’s life.
Bill’s book proudly features a Foreword by The Tragically Hip’s Paul Langlois. + Partial proceeds
from the book are being donated to the White Ribbon Campaign and various women’s shelters
across Canada.Bill Welychka’s “A Happy Has-Been (Exciting Times and Lessons Learned by One of
