Ça fait presque 11 mois depuis que tu es partie du quartier et un peu plus depuis la dernière fois que je t’ai vu passer sur la rue. Je me suis dit qu’avec ton départ, tu commencerais tranquillement à sortir de mes pensées quotidiennes mais malgré le temps, tu es là, bien installée et les sentiments sont plus forts que jamais. Je sais que ça n’arrivera plus mais je donnerais tellement pour te revoir au gym, te voir passer à pied ou à vélo, savoir que tu es là, tout simplement. Il y avait quelque chose de profondément réconfortant et qui me faisait tellement de bien quand je te voyais. C’est comme si pour cet instant, tout était normal et à sa place dans l’univers. J’aurais voulu que ça dure mais maintenant, c’est ton absence qui prend toute la place.
Ça fait plus de 6 ans depuis la première fois que je t’ai vu. Après t’avoir perdu de vue pour un certain temps, c’est complètement par chance qu’on s’est revus dans un autre quartier et un autre gym. Je ne sais pas si tu m’avais remarqué ou reconnu avant qu’on s’échange quelques mots, mais je me demande toujours s’il y avait une raison pour que ça arrive. Si l’histoire n’est pas terminée, il semble qu’elle devra tristement attendre une autre vie pour se poursuivre. Mais d’ici-là, je me console d’avoir eu la chance de t’avoir croisé dans celle-ci et je garde de doux souvenirs de toi qu’aucune force dans l’univers ne pourra effacer.

You were very beautiful, I wanted to say something to you when I first saw you getting food but you were with another girl. If you are a primary caregiver to a child aged 5-12 years who lived with you while previously experiencing gender-based violence, reside in Canada, and have internet access, you may be eligible to participate!
