We are conducting an online research study to better understand how physical distancing is impacting people’s mental health during the COVID-19 pandemic. While isolated from others, many people are using smartphones to keep in touch and engage with others. With the use of a special app, we can begin to understand how people are staying socially connected through calling, messaging, & app usage. Understanding healthy social behaviour during the pandemic can help minimize the negative consequences of physical distancing. We are looking for people to join our study!
Who can Participate? We are looking for people who are ages 15 and older to participate in the study. You do not need to be diagnosed with a mental disorder to participate in the study. Everyone is welcome!
Will you be reimbursed for your time? Participants will receive $40 for filling out the questionnaires and working with our app for one month. We will ask participants to fill out questionnaires again after three months. So, if you complete the study you will receive $60.
Please register using the following link, so that we can send you more information about what it will mean to take part in the current research study: www.covid19-prosit.info
A staff member from our research team is available to answer any questions you have about the study at our toll-free number 1-833-905-0314 or by email at PROSIT@iwk.nshealth.ca

I am a 27yr old female, college student originally from Ontario. I moved here about a year ago and ended up in a severely abusive relationship that I have since fled. I am located in Coleman, in the Crowsness Pass (close to Lethbridge) I am currently staying with a friend I made while I was here, but it is not something that is meant for the long term and I desperately need to get home to Ontario. Preferred city in Ontario would be London, but I'll take whatever I can get and find my way from wherever you drop me off! PLEASE if there is anyone making this drive that has an extra seat send me a message as soon as possible. I just want to get home to my mom and dad, and return to my college program, I want to feel safe and have people around me who I know love me.
I do not have a lot of money but I do have access to jerry cans with fuel in them in the shed that I would have no problem bringing and sharing!
Texts or emails only please

Study Title: How do you feel about Covid-19?
Eligibility Requirements: Seeking individuals who are 17 years or older who can read and write well in English to partake in a two-part study. This study examines the psychological and behavioral responses to Covid-19 and examining the potential benefits of expressive writing on processing and coping with challenges posed by Covid-19.
Study description: The objective of this two-phase study is to examine the relationship between personality characteristics and life circumstances on coping responses to the 2019 Coronavirus (Covid-19). For phase 1, participants will complete an online questionnaire. The online questionnaire will ask questions about participants’ current life circumstances (e.g., employment status and type, how they are currently affected by Covid-19), their mental health status (e.g., anxiety, depression), how they cope with negative life events or challenges, and how they feel about the future. The second phase of the study will consist of completing daily online expressive writing activities for fourteen consecutives days. Participants will be asked to reflect on things that occurred earlier that day, while following guides to help them reflect on these events. The second phase of the study will also consist of completing three follow-up online questionnaires (2 weeks, 1 month, and 3 months after completing the writing program). Enrollment in phase 2 of the study requires the completion of the online questionnaire for phase 1. If participants are interested in enrolling in phase 2, they will have the opportunity to provide us with their email address to commence phase 2. This study has received ethical approval by the ethics board at the University of Ottawa.
Duration: The first phase of the study will take approximately 30-45 minutes to complete. For the second phase of the study, each writing entry will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete with the exception of the first session, which will take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete. Each follow-up survey will take approximately 30-40 minutes to complete.
Benefits: The opportunity to engage in self-reflection and learn techniques that could help process and cope with challenges caused by Covid-19.
Compensation: The opportunity to win one of four 50$ money orders. Each writing session completed will correspond to the number of chances you will have to win one of four money prizes in a draw.
Contact: If participants have any questions about our research, they are encouraged to contact the research assistant (Kheana Barbeau, kbarb006@uottawa.ca).

I have a group you might be interested in learning more about low carb, the ketogenic way of eating & living as well as fasting! I share science that is valid in my group and I have found a great way to leverage our biology. My husband and I were working at boosting our health 4 years ago when we were our heaviest and felt tired every day, and have had some really great life (and body) changes since incorporating therapeutic ketones & LCHF (low carb, high fat) into our lifestyle! now he is 10 - 12 % body fat and me 2 lbs from my goals as well as lower body fat. We have it dialled in and I became a health coach and I really want to help others to learn too. Come on by to learn more about it, as well as try out some yummy therapeutic ketone drinks & some of our favourite LCHF snacks! Hello I am living in my vehicle at the moment with my dog it is absolutely freezing I've been struggling to find housing that will accept me and my dog as he is quite large a very good well-behaved friendly dog!!
I ain't moved back into the Vancouver area in March as last year just as everything was hitting the phone with covid-19 it has been nothing but a struggle finding any type of housing that's affordable in my price range which is not very much as I'm on disability PWD and or allowing my dog. He's definitely part of the family my best friend I could never see myself getting rid of him at all whatsoever I don't know what I would do without him.
So I run out of options and I'm freezing in my car so I decided to take a leap and put it couple add on Kijiji and other platforms. Trying to look for help within the community I'm praying to God this which is somebody who has a kind heart and was able to help in any of the ways possible below I want to thank you ahead of time for reading my post I'm taking the time out of your day to reply.
So because I am living in my vehicle gas is an extremely large cost 99% of my income that comes in every month goes to my gas tank to keep me warm throughout the day as you know it's freezing right now.. I have never ever been in this position before in my life it's extremely difficult and very frustrating I even turned to my disability office for help they pretty much ignored me and told me because I've been struggling for more than one month that it is no longer a emergency it's not unexpected because it's been over a month but I've been living in my vehicle ..so gas is extremely important..
Next would be any type all donations regarding warm clothing or warm blankets as I mentioned above it is extremely cold right now any type of financial help towards any of these things would be great either in gift cards or even cash donations forgot this is the last thing I'm asking for is cash I would actually much preferred gift cards or what not if possible maybe that way I won't feel so horrible for asking for help.
And now the big one. I'm hoping that somebody they have a travel trailer pull behind camper that is free hopefully for you even at extremely low cost. Now being extremely low cost I would have to make arrangements for payments so it might take a little while as I am on disability and I don't get very much at all for support.
Was hoping to get a travel trailer pull behind something not too big as I would like to pull it with my vehicle would be ideal..
I just wanted to put this out there I am extremely uncomfortable with posting this add on Kijiji is very unfamiliar to me I would never see myself doing this in the past but I've come to the point where I'm struggling so really and definitely need some assistance so I thought I would turn to my community and deal with my uncomfortable feelings regarding asking for help.
I am extremely nervous I am second-guessing myself for you posting this had online I'm very independent usually I have my ducks in a row I'm not too sure what happened along the way here but nobody will rent to me with my dog and an affordable price that I can afford long-term.
Thank you again for taking the time out of your day to read my post I hope you can find it in your heart to be able to help me in any type of way possible mentioned above would be wonderful. Please stay safe regards to covid-19 outbreak.. God bless you
Thank you again for taking the time to read my post if you have any more questions or need more information please feel free to contact me back on Kijiji I am not going to leave my actual information or name because once I wanted to be confidential + 2 I have been getting severely weird messages that are extremely inappropriate what you contact me through here I will be able to assess the situation and we could continue from there thank you so much again for your time

Can you spare 15 minutes to help? Even if you filled out the 1st wave of this survey (Aug - Oct 2020), please also fill out this NEW 2nd WAVE of our survey! Click on the link to the questionnaire for more information: https://bit.ly/3828qkJ or scan the QR code.

We are conducting an online research study to better understand how physical distancing is impacting people’s mental health during the COVID-19 pandemic. While isolated from others, many people are using smartphones to keep in touch and engage with others.

Are you looking for a flexible opportunity to volunteer, while seeing the real-life impact you're making? CNIB has the position for you!
As a Vision Mates, you are paired with a person who is blind or partially sighted to help with sighted tasks in their home, deliver groceries, or call to chat. Our current volunteers find this both easy (it feels like spending time with a friend) and flexible (visits/calls are scheduled between the volunteer and their match at a mutually convenient time). Training is provided.
We’re currently looking to match:
- Mary, 75, Big Pond, comfortable with any gender/age volunteer. Looking for a volunteer caller to talk to someone about anything under the sun. If possible, it would be nice to have an in-person match to go for walks or have a cup of tea with, however she would be thrilled to simply have a phone call. -Very easy-going and flexible, extremely accommodating with regards to a scheduled time.
- Robert, 70s, Ingonish, likes talking about music, philosophy, and spirituality. He’d like help reading mail and books, organizing, going for walks, and socializing.
- George, 60s, New Waterford, would like a female visitor weekday afternoons to help with reading, going for walks, and socializing. He describes himself as a “pretty good fella” and enjoys books, magazines (MacLeans, Canadian Geographic), wrestling shows, outer space movies, and going to Tim Hortons and the library. He has some hearing loss and needs someone who will speak slowly.
- Faith, 50s, Port Hawkesbury, wants a call twice a week in the evening (local calling). She likes to joke around and is easy to talk to. She enjoys knitting, reading, baking, and spending time with her cat. She’d like an older female volunteer, who would help with organizing, grocery shopping, and going for walks. She wears a hearing aid so annunciating will be important.
- Christina, 40s, Port Hawkesbury, is looking for someone to go for walks with so that she can practice using her white cane and become more independent. She’s not looking for a sighted guide, but rather someone who can provide assistance if/when needed. She enjoys listening to audio books.
- Michelle, 70s, Sydney, would like help shopping, going for walks, and completing paper work. She enjoys crafts, books, computers, and spending time with her grandchildren.
- Peter, 40s, Sydney, is a new parent who would like someone to exercise and jog with. He is interested in movies, shows, music, the news, his community, current affairs, sports, and reading. Weekends and Friday work best.
- John, 60s, Sydney, would like a female volunteer to help with reading, organizing, and going for walks to coffee or to the pharmacy. He has a cat and enjoys gardening, talking about travel, and listening to CBC.Interested in volunteering for this position? Email jeff.deviller@cnib.ca and he'd be happy to answer any of your questions!
