You are invited to participate in a research study called the Study of Emotion and Experience in Development (SEED), conducted by Olivia Merulla, Ella Rivet and Dr. Aislinn Sandre at Western University. This study explores how life experiences and family mental health relate to brain activity.
What’s involved:
• A 1-hour online questionnaire
• A 2-hour in-person lab visit, where brain activity is measured using a safe, non-invasive method called electroencephalography (EEG)
Eligibility:
• Ages 18–30
• No history of serious neurological conditions (e.g., epilepsy)
• No significant head injury involving loss of consciousness longer than 10 minutes
Compensation:
• $30 total ($10 for the survey, $20 for the lab visit)
• OR up to 6 SONA credits (2 for the survey, 4 for the lab visit)

The University of Windsor is looking for interested individuals to participate in a study exploring the childbirth experiences of women with a histories of gender-based violence (GBV).
REQUIREMENTS:
• Identify as assigned female at birth
• Experienced any form of childbirth after 20 weeks' gestation
• Experienced GBV prior to childbirth experience
• Have not experienced GBV within the last 6 months
• Over the age of 18 years old
• Access to the internet
• Can read and write in the English language
• Live in Ontario
PARTICIPATION WILL INVOLVE:
• Survey: Complete a 20 minute survey asking about your demographic information (age, race, childbirth history, GBV history).
• Interview: Complete one 60-90 minute interview exploring your childbirth experiences within the context of GBV.

I am resourceful and have my own Innova OBD computer reader to scan the vehicle for digital fault codes.
What I lack is the mechanical experience to spot physical issues like fluid leaks, transmission glitches, suspension wear, or hidden rust.
You would just need your own vehicle to meet up with me at the lot/location.

We Build Safety: Bridging Individual and Collective Safety Study
Safety is critical to our wellbeing. Without safety, we experience stress and anxiety. Safety is a central subject in relationships, community, public health, and social issues. In this research study, the aim is to explore everyday understandings, experiences, and practices of safety as an individual and a collective experience.
Participation criteria: Young adult (18-30 years old), English-speaking, residing in Toronto, Canada.
You will review the consent form (5 mins) complete a demographics questionnaire (5 mins), and partake in a Zoom interview (1 to 1.5 hours) about your perspectives, experiences, and practices of safety. Interviews will be audio recorded (required). Your identity will remain completely confidential. You will receive a $20 e-giftcard for participation.

July 1st, 2026 is Canada's 159th birthday, and the Mill Woods President's Council is actively recruiting members of the community who want to volunteer for us and help make our annual Canada Day Celebrations a success. It's a great way to interact with others, enjoy the festivities, and all in all, have a wonderful time. You can also add this experience to your resume and collect volunteer hours.
Mill Woods Canada Day is held on July 1 from 2:00-11:00 pm at Mill Woods Park.
We have a few spots left that we are now inviting the general public to fill. We encourage you to pick a role that are still available. Past volunteers have first priority in selecting their preferred shifts in future editions of Mill Woods Canada Day.

Dear Future Friend,
Something in your life messed up?
I’ve been there - I used to be very anxious and uncomfortable all the time.
Whatever you are up against: someone in your life pulling you down, emotions eating away at you, don’t know what to do, can’t handle “it” or just generally figure out what you should even be doing – it’s all part of the daily struggle.
You might have tried meditation, therapy, meds, marijuana, mindfulness or any other mess of things. If you’re like me, you left feeling less than satisfied …
You see, so much of that is just scratching the surface, covering up deeper issues with a temporary numb or “happy feeling” - some of it is downright destructive!
But! Hear this: the universe and mind operate under certain very exact laws. Though some of these are obvious, many of them were undiscovered less than 100 years ago – and yet remain unknown to most of the population. The state of mental health is a mess. Depressed? Take a pill. Uneasy? Take a pill. Or go to therapy and talk about your problems forever, never getting at the REAL root of the matter (therapy can be great, but it does not work 100% of the time on everybody).
Ok, enough said. I’ll fill you in on something you ought to know.
A number of years ago, an engineer wrote a #1 New York Times Bestselling Book on the mind.
His search for answers led him more than 250,000 miles in China & India, as well as to remote regions across the globe.
He closely studied 21 primitive races and cultures seeking a “common denominator of existence,” applying strict scientific research methods gained at George Washington University.
Later on, due to injuries received in World War II, he was admitted to a military hospital in Oakland, California where he refined the techniques he’d developed treating wounded service members (and surprisingly, himself!). He was able to eliminate “mental blocks” that prevented easy recovery.
Following the war, he completed his research started 3 decades ago. And in May 1950 a bolt from the blue struck the world.
The book provided a thoroughly tested, workable method to erase unwanted sensations and unpleasant emotions. It went on to sell more than 20,000,000 copies as a continual #1 New York Times bestseller….
Throughout the next 4 decades, he continued his research into the mind and life and published many more books on the subject as well as thousands of recorded lectures. He became the most published author of all time (1084 Publications), and earned 4 Guinness World Records.
His work laid the foundation for Scientology, a worldwide religion centered around real, practical solutions to the mind and life. “Religion” meaning “a search for basic truth.”
“Scientology” is taken from the Latin scio, which means "knowing" and the Greek word logos, meaning "study of." It really just means “the ability to improve conditions” - not a set of beliefs, but something you learn, observe, make up your own mind about and DO. The founder says, “Nothing in Scientology is true for you unless you have observed it and it is true according to your observation.”

Free Death Doula Services
Are you or someone you love approaching the end of life?
I am currently offering free death doula services as I continue my training and deepen my practice in this work.
What is a death doula?
A death doula is a non-medical support person who accompanies individuals and families through the dying process. My role is to listen deeply, help create comfort and dignity, support conversations and decision-making, advocate for a person's wishes, and help navigate the practical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of dying.
Support looks different for every person. It may involve companionship, advance planning, family conversations, meaningful rituals, or simply being a calm and steady presence during a difficult time.
I also offer support with creative legacy projects such as recording stories and memories, gathering photographs, creating video or audio messages, or helping shape personal rituals that reflect a person's life and values.
Death doulas can also support family members and caregivers, offering guidance and compassionate accompaniment throughout the transition.
Though death doulas are distinct from medical professionals, caring for the dying is a role as old as humanity itself. Across cultures and history, people have accompanied one another through death ~ knowing that death can be as meaningful as life itself.
Planning Ahead
Death doula support is not only for people who are nearing death. Many people find comfort in preparing ahead of time. This may include discussing end-of-life wishes, organizing important documents, exploring funeral or memorial preferences, and having conversations with loved ones before a crisis arises.
About Me
My name is Gabrielle. I am a listener, artist, and caregiver. My creative practice includes music, filmmaking, photography, community ritual, and storytelling. For many years, I have worked closely with elders and people in caregiving relationships.
Death has been a profound presence in my own life. Through experiences of loss, grief, serious illness, and near-death experiences, I have developed a deep appreciation for the importance of compassion in these moments.
Last year, I completed end-of-life doula training through the International End of Life Doula Association (INELDA), and I continue to deepen my learning through workshops, reading, and community practice.
At this stage, I am offering my services free of charge as I continue to build experience and deepen my practice. I approach this work with humility and a deep respect for each person's unique experience.
