The volunteers will teach arts and crafts to children between 6 and 15 years of age. The program is conducted in community schools in or around the Kathmandu valley, Pokhara, Tanahun, Lamjung, Chitwan, Makwanpur or Nawalparasi district. The schools are always in need of more teachers and it will also be possible to teach other subjects such as English, Mathematics and Science. One volunteer can be placed in a school at a time. In Nepal, the school day starts at 10:00 am and ends at 4:00 pm. You’ll have 3 to 5 classes a day, each class lasting 45 minutes. Saturday is a holiday and Friday is a half-holiday. When not in school, you will share your everyday life with your host family.
Formal teaching experience is not required, but any relevant skills and qualifications are appreciated. Strong motivation and interest in Nepalese culture are expected.
Duration of the project: 2-5 months. The volunteer placements start on the first Monday of the month.
Orientation: Volunteers attend a 3-day orientation seminar at a training center in Kathmandu before the start of the project. The seminar aims to provide basic knowledge about the Nepalese education system, culture, dress code, food, and detailed information about the project, the school, Nepali language, etc. The orientation seminar starts on the first Monday of the month. During the orientation, accommodation is provided in a dormitory in Kathmandu.

Nutritional imbalances in our cells and organs have been recognized for a long time. Many individuals do not get enough vital nutrients: around 90% are low in potassium, 70% in calcium, and 80% in vitamin E. More than half of the population also lacks vitamins A, C, and magnesium. Vitamin D deficiency impacts at least 50% of people, regardless of their age, and nearly 90% of those with darker skin are also deficient in this vitamin. The CDC states that 60% of adults have one or more chronic diseases, which can often be improved with specific nutrition for cells.
Most people are unaware that Medical Doctors do not receive training in cellular nutrition, which is distinct from simply maintaining a "balanced diet." Knowing this can lead to unexpected health advantages. I wish I had learned about this 30 years ago. For the last 25 years, I was misled by confusing "new age" marketing. Ultimately, I ended up in a doctor's office, where I was prescribed numerous pills that only made me feel worse.
Issues with an underactive thyroid are becoming more frequent each year. Disorders of the pituitary gland can cause problems such as tension headaches, migraines, vision issues, and glaucoma. The word "allergy" was redefined in 1925, excluding many conditions, including hypersensitivity. Hypoglycemia is often found in psychiatric patients and those with aggressive behaviors. Essential fatty acids are commonly lacking in North American diets. As people get older, stomach acid and other important substances usually decrease, especially in those over 40. This decline in gut health and nutrient absorption can negatively affect cellular reproduction.

Back story . I only get paid once a month and my next pay is end of this month then nothing until after Christmas. I'm creating a new podcast called (for now anyway) "John and Mary Haves a Talk." The idea is that John and Mary are a couple who live in St. John's and the topic of each episode would be something that SJ'ers could relate to. For example, I've already written one episode where they have a debate/argument about which is better milk, Brookfield or Central Dairies.
Each episode would be about 5 minutes long and I would do all the writing and audio production and editing and all that. Your job, as Mary, would be just to have a Google Meet call with me and we would then record the show based on a script I have written. We could even record more than one at a time.
I'm thinking that we would start out at one episode a week, but increase to two, especially if it was getting lots of downloads. I've got lots of experience in hosting several podcasts.
The qualifications:
- You have to have a good sense of humour
- You have to be able to do (or already have!) a good Newfie accent
- You need to be reliable
