Hi everyone, I’ve made a few posts over the years but still in search of bandmates so I’m posting again. I was hoping to start a band with an alternative/indie rock sound, although I’m not super concerned about the genre as long as we’re all enjoying the music we’re playing. If we could play mostly originals with a handful of covers, play live, and record and put out our music eventually I’d like that. I’m 25, and I have experience/interest in a variety of instruments like guitar, bass, drums, keyboard/synths, harmonica, and enjoy singing and writing lyrics too, so I could try out different roles in a group. I’m usually free after 11am most days until around 10pm, so I’d be free for rehearsals then. I’d like to have practices 1-3 times a week if possible. I’m happy to share songs from previous bands I’ve been in as well so you have some reference for what music I play.
Some of my musical influences are New Order, Joy Division, Echo and The Bunnymen, The Smiths, Aztec Camera, REM, The Police, XTC, David Bowie, Sonic Youth, Talking Heads, Ride, Slowdive, Oasis, The Sundays, Alvvays, Radiohead, The Velvet Underground, Television, The Drums, and others
If any of that interests you, send me a message or comment below. Thanks for reading

If you are wanting to learn to play the piano, or improve your keyboarding skills, I would love to help you, or your child, achieve those goals. In the past couple of years I have started teaching remotely, and you may wonder if this can be as effective as in person lessons. The answer is YES! My students have had great results learning in this new format. Not only is it effective, it is also convenient! No need to drive to lessons, or drop off and pick up your children etc. We'll meet online once a week. Just sign in to your lesson from your own home. No travel time, no extra expenses getting to and from lessons, no time spent waiting for your children to have their lessons. There are so many benefits. If you are about to have your first practice and Yoga confuses you, I can help simplify it for you.
It actually is too simple for words.
...
And I am also offering Traditional Workplace Yoga and Meditation to the CBRM area.
I have taught workplace Yoga and Meditation at the following locations in HRM ;

Here is an excerpt from a recent study . . ."Yoga has long been considered an effective way to decrease stress in general, but few studies have reviewed the ability of yoga to reduce stress in the workplace specifically.
Now, a new study confirms that yoga does just that. The study, published in Occupational Medicine, reviewed the results of 13 trials of 1,297 employees. Some employees had been assigned to workplace yoga programs and others were part of a control group. During the study, yoga didn’t seem to affect heart health, but it did positively affect mental health and stress reduction."

Experienced Male Keyboardist and Male Lead Vocalist Wanted
For Established All 80s New Wave Cover Band(Based in around Kitchener Area)Some Background…
My name is Davey, I’m Drummer/Founder/Booking Agent for a very well to do All 80s New Wave band called Smile N’ Wave.
This band(for a cover band in the Nightclub/Hall/Summer Festival scene) has had a fantastic, long run of 9 years- we’ve seen amazing packed rooms, crazy parties and dancing crowds that always really enjoy what we have to offer.
But, all good things have to come to an end eventually-2 of our beloved friends/brothers have made the difficult decision(amicable of course)to end their tenure with SNW as of Halloween 2025 - they will be hugely missed by the 3 of us.
So, what to do?
*** ADVERTISING EARLY***
The SNW show just won’t be the same without them - so as of Halloween this fun chapter for the five of us after a great 9 year run is coming to a close.
My heart is all about performing 80s New Wave music - so after much thought, I’ve decided to definitely create a reinvented band/show/name with the remaining members(us being Drums, Guitar and Bass).
What I’m looking for…
Before I get into qualifications you should understand what you’re getting into…
The cover songs we perform are challenging both vocally and musically- each one has its own distinct style, sound and approach. They’re very androgynous, full of punk rock energy(the root of most New Wave) and loud. If you are unfamiliar with 80s New Wave you should really listen and absorb the sample list down below before reaching out so you’re 100% sure this is for you.
If I can describe this music it’s a combination of mainly European post punk dance music and 80s movie soundtrack hits.Qualifications (*Please Read)
Frontman
- Great Singing Voice with excellent range(Anything from David Bowie(Let’s Dance)(low)to Payola$(Eyes of A Stranger)/The Cult(She Sells)or possibly A-Ha(Take On Me)(high falsetto chorus)
- Experience a must(You’re the Host of the Dance Party)
- Hi End Mic and your Own Monitor
- Good Image(we dress 80s)
- Other instruments a huge assetKeyboardist
