Position Overview:
Apex Power & Automation has an opportunity available for a Journeyman Industrial Electrician. You will work as part of the maintenance/construction team to ensure that all mobile/plant equipment is maintained and managed to the highest degree of reliability in a safe and effective manner. The typical shift is a 4 day 10 Hrs/Day week plus travel to the different mine sitesPrincipal Accountability:
Electrical/Automation Construction Projects or various sizes
Perform predictive maintenance and corrective maintenance on facility assets or mobile equipment
Complete scheduled preventative maintenance inspections on critical equipment
Troubleshooting Skills are a must.
Installation of new equipment and cabling
Participate in meetings, training activities, and the site safety program
Qualifications:Required:
Possession of Inter-provincial Journeyman Electrician Certificate
Minimum 2 years’ experience within an industrial maintenance environment
Must be willing to work from heights and in confined spaces
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
Basic knowledge of industrial safety with an absolute commitment to safety
Strong problem-solving/troubleshooting skills, good written and verbal communication skills
Strong work ethic and organizational skills
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada on a non-temporary basis
Preferred:Experience in the mining industry
Experience with wireless communications, or radio networks
Knowledge of soft starts and variable frequency drives
Experience with PLC’s and reading logic drawings
Potentially able to move to the Elk Valley in Southeastern B.C
