These are purpose-bred Rottweiler mixes, or "Mini Rotts," that mature to about half the size of a standard Rottweiler. Parents are between 46-58 lbs, and 19"-20" tall at the shoulder. DNA screened and clear through Embark, and OFA cleared hips and elbows, normal patellas.
Their smaller size make them ideal for apartments or stratas with breed size restrictions. Our goal with this smaller variation is to create versatile dogs with better joint health/less issues with hip dysplasia, and longer life span, while remaining functional as a working or sporting breed.
Looking for active homes! These guys are not lazy couch potatoes, and need homes where their owners will work their minds and bodies! Unfortunately we are looking to rehome our 2 year old Black Lab/Border Collie Mix to a loving home. He is very protective, doesn’t care much for strangers, he does bark and growl, but does warm up to them after spending some time together. He knows his basic commands, is great with other dogs and cats. He is microchipped, it can be transferred. He is also neutered. Their purpose was to run down a wolf. or other large game, and pin it until the hunter arrived. Happy go-lucky & oh so cuddly, we adore our 4 year old Great Pyrenees/Australian Shepherd - but she needs to live in a home without any other dogs to be her best self. It breaks our heart to reach this conclusion, but we are ready to take applications for her new owner. She is perfect for someone ready for a wonderful canine companion in the prime of her life.
She will be free to the right home. She has excellent house manners (is crate trained but doesn't need it), is spayed/up to date on shots, knows all her basic commands, is leash trained, is very gentle, tolerant, & patient with young children. However, she can nip out of surprise/fear so would need supervision with kids if they are not gentle with her. The main issue preventing her from staying in our multiple dog household is that she cares too much about being dominant with other dogs and has now attacked our older dog one too many times - though never serious, it is unprovoked and unpredictable and we can't keep on top of it. She would be the perfect companion dog for the right person - mellow, sweet, devoted, & fun loving.
She needs a new owner who checks ALL of these conditions so that she can thrive:
No other dogs in the home (dog friendly cats are okay but she'll chase skittish cats)
Assertive & experienced dog owner who can be gentle but firm
Physically strong enough to handle her (she is around 70 pounds)
