I am placing this Ad for a friend of mine who owns this lovely Villa in Cancun as her English is limited.
I speak from experience when I say that this Villa is the best and yet most affordable Villa in the neighborhood. Firstly, it is a gated community with guards at 2 entrances. They are there 24/7. Not that you will need it, as it is a very safe neighborhood in a middle class neighborhood. Just outside the main gates (3 minute walk) is a "Six", Oxxo and 711 within 5 minute walk from gate. They all sell beer and alchohol. Sundays they close at 5pm for any alchohol. A 10 minute walk gets you to Soriana's plaza. And 15 minutes to Walmart. There is a great restaurant called "Mr Lasagna". Honestly, the best Lasagna and pizza I've had. Also great chinese food in the Soriana Mall. This is for those who don't particularly like Mexican food. Of course there are great Mexican restaurants just a walk away. Everything you need is in the studio. For those of us on a budget, it's great. Large fridge in each studio. Electic stove, microwave, pots, pans and utensils. Towels, clean linens provided. Toilet paper (2 rolls) so you have to buy your own aferwards. Air conditioning in all rooms. And the best thing is TV and GREAT WIFI. Oh ya....... the POOL right in the backyard is heaven! You CANNOT smoke in the unit but there are tables and chairs and ashtrays right outside your unit. My friend has listings on A i r b n b. However, if you would like to avoid the taxes and fees you can contact her directly. If you have any questions at all, just ask me. I have vacationed here for 6 years and have been 12 times. Just ask me. I have added the pictures on her website but also a few of my own. At this time of year (high season) she only charges $33/night and up to $42/night approximately. The larger room can sleep more than 2.

L’accès aux deux emplacements de stationnement situés sous la villa est assez pentu (comme souvent en Martinique !) et nécessite de disposer d’un véhicule de type SUV ou, pour le moins, d’un véhicule qui ne soit pas rabaissé. This is a very well-designed attractive villa. There is great attention to detail in both the furnishings and layout. We were both impressed by the tasteful decorative touches from the dried flowers to tile mosaics on the walls. An example of the design is the large built in closets in the upstairs bedrooms. I have never stayed in a rental with as much closet and drawer space. The property was extremely clean and well-maintained. The beds were all comfortable. The villa is spacious both in the grounds and inside. Where some may have been tempted to have 4 or 5 bedrooms, the 3 good sized bedroom and large living areas given a certain dignity and sense of spaciousness. The kitchen was well equipped as far as pots and pans, dishes and cutlery. The appliances all worked.
There was a beautiful view of the valley from this hillside location from both inside the villa and the outside terraces and pool deck. One can see Alvor, Lagos and Portimao along the coast and amazing twinkling lights at night time. The villa and around the pool deck is very private. The villa is set well back from the road down a steep dead end lane and so no passing traffic. The location gives a sense of peacefulness.
We walked into the lovely town of Monchique a few times and also ate at the nice restaurant at the top of the lane - O Luar da Foia, rated highly in Tripadvisor. You need to be reasonably fit given the road is steep. Monchique has a large modern InterMarche supermarket and some smaller grocery stores and butcher shops. There are also a number of pleasant cafes. There is a large shopping mall in Portimao. A car is recommended. If you have one, the villa makes a good base for exploring the region.
The west coast is about 30 min away by secondary road, while Portimao and the A22 main tollway is about 15 min south. We went as far as Odeceixe in the north west. Despite the weather during or stay in November, we were able to use the pool a bit when the sun was shining. We would not hesitate to rent from Nigel again. He was easy to deal with and extremely responsive to any questions. Given its high quality, the villa is a real bargain in the low and shoulder season. Highly recommend it.-TripAdvisor
