This is a very well-designed attractive villa. There is great attention to detail in both the furnishings and layout. We were both impressed by the tasteful decorative touches from the dried flowers to tile mosaics on the walls. An example of the design is the large built in closets in the upstairs bedrooms. I have never stayed in a rental with as much closet and drawer space. The property was extremely clean and well-maintained. The beds were all comfortable. The villa is spacious both in the grounds and inside. Where some may have been tempted to have 4 or 5 bedrooms, the 3 good sized bedroom and large living areas given a certain dignity and sense of spaciousness. The kitchen was well equipped as far as pots and pans, dishes and cutlery. The appliances all worked.
There was a beautiful view of the valley from this hillside location from both inside the villa and the outside terraces and pool deck. One can see Alvor, Lagos and Portimao along the coast and amazing twinkling lights at night time. The villa and around the pool deck is very private. The villa is set well back from the road down a steep dead end lane and so no passing traffic. The location gives a sense of peacefulness.
We walked into the lovely town of Monchique a few times and also ate at the nice restaurant at the top of the lane - O Luar da Foia, rated highly in Tripadvisor. You need to be reasonably fit given the road is steep. Monchique has a large modern InterMarche supermarket and some smaller grocery stores and butcher shops. There are also a number of pleasant cafes. There is a large shopping mall in Portimao. A car is recommended. If you have one, the villa makes a good base for exploring the region.
The west coast is about 30 min away by secondary road, while Portimao and the A22 main tollway is about 15 min south. We went as far as Odeceixe in the north west. Despite the weather during or stay in November, we were able to use the pool a bit when the sun was shining. We would not hesitate to rent from Nigel again. He was easy to deal with and extremely responsive to any questions. Given its high quality, the villa is a real bargain in the low and shoulder season. Highly recommend it.-TripAdvisor

Our current renters need to leave for a medical situation, so our gorgeous home is now available for the best time of the year - March 2024!
Our condo is a spacious 1546 square foot, one-storey, 2 bedroom 2 bathroom home nestled in the quiet, southwest corner of the famed gated community of Mission Hills in Rancho Mirage.
Mission Hills Country Club is an excellent central location – just 15 minutes from downtown Palm Springs, the airport, El Paseo and many other restaurants, shopping, golf, hiking and biking options.
Our renovated and upgraded end unit home is very clean and tastefully decorated. We love the open floor plan, vaulted ceilings and all the light that streams in from the many windows. The private, covered back patio off the living/dining area has a BBQ and seating area and opens onto a green belt with mature, groomed trees and the famous Dinah Shore golf course. Some say that our home has Mission Hills’ best panoramic views of the San Jacinto Mountains and we agree!
The main bedroom is huge with a king sized bed, large closet and vaulted ceilings. It features an ensuite and a separate area for reading, working, exercising or doing yoga.
The second bedroom has a queen sized bed, with a bathroom across the hall that also serves as the main bathroom.
Our large, renovated kitchen is fully equipped for all of your cooking needs including new stainless steel appliances and a breakfast bar that is open to the living/dining room. Across from the kitchen is a separate laundry room with a full sized washer and dryer. There is one covered parking spot adjacent to our front door and guest parking nearby.
A refundable security deposit of 500 USD will be returned once our home is confirmed to be left in good condition. The monthly rent includes utilities and cleaning service upon your departure. Our home is pet-free and smoke-free.
Our normal March rate is $4600/month; however, we're knocking $500 off the price since March 1st is just a few weeks away.
