If you're looking for music lessons that will build a strong foundation of musical knowledge and instill a deep love for music in your child, look no further! I'm a music teacher with 4 years teaching experience, a degree in Music Composition from Acadia University, and a special knack for connecting with young friends in their musical journeys.
What I love most about teaching music is tailoring lessons to my students' individual tastes, finding ways to connect the concepts we learn to their interests, and engaging with many different learning styles and techniques. Be it through learning to play the piano, strumming along to favourite songs, or finding your unique voice, I believe the basis of a lifelong love of music can come down to our first musical learning experiences. Learning music at a young age is as much about building confidence and expanding our brain development as it is about learning a new skill. This is why my goal as a music teacher is to prioritize space for curiosity, fun, creativity, and play, alongside technical and theoretical practice.
As a singer-songwriter, composer, band leader, and performer, I also provide lessons in songwriting, composition, performance, and more. I am also happy to offer virtual or hybrid virtual/in-person lesson as well. Please inquire if you have any questions or would like more details!

REGISTRATION FOR WINTER TERM IS OPEN NOW!
The O'Neill Flute Studio has openings for dedicated students who are excited about improving your musical skills.
Lessons are available on flute, piccolo and Irish flute for beginner, novice and advanced players, ages 6+.
Younger students start in our Tiny Toots program, where the learning is centred around game play and movement, using small instruments (available through the studio for local families) designed especially for tiny beginners.
Our older students can choose whether to follow the Recreational Musician or Serious Musician stream. In the Recreational Musician stream, students will learn to improve their skill level while exploring the music they love, whether it is classical, musical theatre, jazz, pop or traditional Irish tunes. Students in the Serious Musician stream will focus on the skills needed to progress to the top as a classical, orchestral / musical theatre / studio musician - a musical intensive program which includes repertoire (solo pieces), technical work, tone & intonation work and general musicianship skills, all leading up to advanced-level study.
Lessons take place in Halifax or via Skype/FaceTime/Zoom, and more information can be found on the Studio website at:

Contrary to popular belief, you do not need to be born with a special gift or talent in order to learn to play guitar. If you are willing to put in some time and effort you can learn.
The best way to do this is with the help of a trained teacher, someone who has helped many others learn how to play guitar, and who will also:
* Guide you every step of the way so you learn the right things in order to you keep progressing without getting overwhelmed
* Teach you how to play actual songs right away even if you have never played guitar before so you can see for yourself that this is possible for you
* Provide you with very flexible scheduling options so that you can fit lessons into your busy schedule
And best of all you will ...
* Receive a free introductory session!
Visit our website right now to find out more and to get started with your free introductory session:
http://www.halifaxguitarlessons.com/youcan"I like the way they teach. It's the way that I learn. It's methodical - step by step - it's a natural progression. My guitar skills have improved a thousand fold since I started taking lessons from them. They give useful tips and are encouraging. I learn something new every lesson and I'm always really pumped about it! I look forward to practicing too, it's not a chore."
- Michele C., Dartmouth, Mother of Two, Civil Servant
"I went from no guitar experience to playing several songs in only a few lessons. When I started a few weeks ago I did not know a single chord of music nor did I even know how to strum correctly. I have actually progressed much quicker than I thought possible in such a short time."
- Robert C., Sackville, Retired Military Veteran
