Nutrition Study: Comparing Plant-based & Beef Burgers in Adults
Description
Researchers from Nutrition Discovery (ND) Labs at Toronto Metropolitan University are conducting a study to compare the effects of animal and plant-based burgers on appetite, pleasantness and sensory characteristics in 24 adults.
Who can participate?
In order to participate, you must:
- Be 18 – 45 years of age, and
- Be healthy with a Body Mass Index (BMI) between 18.5 - 24.9 kg/m2, and
- Not dieting or have significant weight fluctuations, and
- Not be taking any medication(s) that influence diet, and
- Be able and willing to eat a standard breakfast (strawberry cereal bar, fruit salad and,
- orange juice), beef AND a plant-based burger and drink a diet coke, and
- Not be allergic to the study ingredients (beef, egg, gluten, milk, sesame, soy, sulphites, wheat)
Time Commitment:
1 Screening Visit (45 minutes) + 2 Lunch Test Sessions (90 minutes, breakfast and lunch included)
As a thank you for participating, a $20 honorarium will be provided for each Lunch Test Session
