    Designed by Canadian artist Emily Damstra, your coin features a striking three-quarter profile of a Canadian Atlantic lobster. Finely-detailed engraving recreates the lobster’s characteristic features, from the bumpy “teeth” on theclaws to the sensory bristles along the edges of its articulated tail. The long pair of antennae, which are sensitive to the touch and chemicals, rise uppast the image field while the shorter antennules are pointed forward to help the lobster react to itssurroundings. The lobster’s famous clawsare prominently displayed; both its large, big-toothed crusher claw and the fine-edged ripper claw areopened slightly, ready to grip any prey encountered as our lobster walks along the seabed on its eightwalking legs.

    Did you know…

    •  Lobsters are only orange-red once they’ve been cooked—lobsters harvested in Atlantic Canada are typically olive or brownish-coloured.

    •  If a lobster is cut into two equal halves from head to tail, both would be the mirror image of theother—except for the front claws, which differ in shape to serve different purposes.

    •  The largest lobster on record was caught off-shore of Nova Scotia, weighing 20.14 kilograms and measuring more than 110 centimetres long—it is believed to have been at least 100 years old!

    •  If missing a leg or claw, the lobster has the ability to regenerate it when it moults.

    DESIGN

    Resembling the 1916 Mark I model worn by Canadian combatants, the combat helmet-shaped coin is the result of a careful collaboration between Royal Canadian Mint engravers and engineers. The coin’s unprecedented, extreme curvature allows for a realistic re-creation (on a much smaller scale) of the bowl-shaped headgear issued to Canadian troops and all British Empire forces in 1916. The reverse provides a view of the top of the now-iconic steel helmet, whose battle-worn appearance is the result of engraved “cracks” and “markings” beneath the antique finish that gives it all a distressed look. Along the brim that helped protect soldiers from airborne debris, the heartfelt assurance “LEST WE FORGET N’OUBLIONS JAMAIS” is flanked by engraved poppies, while the double dates “1918” and “2018” mark the centennial of Armistice. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt engraved deep in the recessed circular crown, while the legend and face value are engraved on the brim.

    The Mr. Heater Big Maxx unit heater will turn your garage or barn into a work space you can use all year round. Uses a built-in high-velocity electric fan to pull cool air in and across the heat exchanger, then forces warm, comfortable air out. Its low profile design requires only a 10 ft minimum ceiling height and 1 in. mounting clearance. Features a high-temperature safety shut-off, gas safety shut-off flame sensor, and an electric spark ignition with a self-diagnostic control module, to bring you peace of mind and years of comfortable, safe heat. Comes as natural gas and includes a propane conversion kit. Requires 120-Volt AC power and can be vented vertically or horizontally - please check local codes and restrictions.
