The study aims to understand why migrants voluntarily decide to move to, stay and build their lives in small and mid-sized Canadian cities, so that we can enhance our understanding of migrants’ location choices, mobility patterns, and settlement following their arrival in Canada.
We are recruiting 20 participants to complete an online 5-minute survey on SurveyMonkey and of those 20, we will invite 10 people to participate in online 1-hour Zoom interviews. The survey can be accessed here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/whymigrantstay2. Your shared stories and insights will be valuable in informing policies to better respond to the needs of newcomers and local communities in small and mid-sized cities.
Participants completing BOTH the survey AND interview will receive a $15 Tim Hortons gift card.
This research study has been reviewed and approved by the Ryerson University Research Ethics Board [REB 2020-243] and is funded by the Canada Excellence Research Chair, Government of Canada.

Greeting and salutation, and peace to you, James here.
Is there anyone in this kijiji place minded to walk the straight and narrow path this summer; to do some bushcrafting, off grid living, simple sowing, foraging and trapping; having as little attachment to the monopoly world as possible, while gathering with others who are same minded?
If so, Yea, let me know!

Lost families heir loom rocking chair when a strap came loose on my load, while moving. It was bubble wrapped when it fell onto the roadway on late afternoon on Tuesday January 19th. It has a red small seat and back cushions, fan shaped spindle back and runners that tapered inwards towards the back, it was recently refurbished and has gold pin striping on the legs. Offering an award for return.
