The Babysitter’s Training Course is one of Canada's Safety Council’s longest-running programs. Taught by actual school teachers at our location in Dartmouth, the course is an ideal community project, which can help prevent injuries and promote the responsible management of common situations that may arise. At the same time, children are under the care of babysitters.
The Babysitter’s Course is designed for pre-teens and teens to learn how to be a great babysitter and feel safe doing it.
Our Babysitting Course covers how to stay safe, and how to keep the children safe, as well as how to and when to call for help. Our training includes calling 911 and dealing with behaviours and basic first aid. When teaching the participants, we also divide the child care into different ages including
Infants,
Toddlers,
Preschoolers and
School-aged children.

Taught by actual school teachers, this is designed to provide children 9 years of age and older with the necessary skills and knowledge to be safe and responsible when home alone for short periods. It will help them understand how to prevent problems, handle real-life situations, and keep them safe and constructively occupied.
The program focuses on small group discussions, problem-solving, role-playing, and instructor-led demonstrations.THE COURSE MATERIAL COVERS SUCH TOPICS AS:

This Course meets legislation requirements for provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance boards and includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines. Two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch are included in the time. You may bring lunch and snacks to eat during the breaks and lunch.

There is still space available in this fun and dynamic group piano class!
Beginner piano students will learn the foundations of playing the piano, music theory, rhythm, composition and more while having fun and socializing with other kids! The hour long piano class is run by a senior piano teacher along with a teaching assistant.
Each child will receive one on one lesson time during the class with the senior teacher as well as group time to learn theory, practice their songs and play musical games.
The Group Piano Lessons are designed to prepare students for a continuing music education and private piano lessons in the future.When: Thursdays from 6:00-7:00. Students are welcome to register throughout the school year. * Lesson fees are prorated for students beginning later in the school year.

Learning to drive is a process of acquiring the skills and knowledge necessary to operate a motor vehicle safely and effectively on public roads. The process involves a combination of 25 hours of classroom instruction and 10 hours of practical driving lessons. Please note that the classroom portion is also available as an online course. There is still space available in this fun and dynamic group piano class!
Beginner piano students will learn the foundations of playing the piano, music theory, rhythm, composition and more while having fun and socializing with other kids! The hour long piano class is run by a senior piano teacher along with a teaching assistant.
Each child will receive one on one lesson time during the class with the senior teacher as well as group time to learn theory, practice their songs and play musical games.
The Group Piano Lessons are designed to prepare students for a continuing music education and private piano lessons in the future.When: Thursdays from 6:00-7:00. Students are welcome to register throughout the school year. * Lesson fees are prorated for students beginning later in the school year.
Who: Beginner piano students aged 5-8.
Where: Accents Music Learning Centre - 183 Portland St. - St. James United Church Hall
Tuition: Monthly Tuition is $99 per month per student.
$60 Annual Registration and Materials Fee - this fee includes a beginner piano method book, theory workbook, piano flashcards for reinforcing learned concepts in class, a binder, sheet music, and other materials used by the students.

Basic one-day course offering lifesaving first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for the workplace or home. This Course meets legislation requirements for provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance boards and includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines. Two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch are included in the time. You may bring lunch and snacks to eat during the breaks and lunch.

Comprehensive two-day course offering first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for those who need training due to work requirements or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies at home.
Unless otherwise specified the 2nd day follows directly after the first day. There are 2 x 15-minute breaks and one 30-minute lunch at this time. You can bring lunch and snacks with you to the class.

Try out Piano and Singing lessons for a week at a fun and educational Music and Arts Adventure Summer Camp at Accents Music Learning Centre in Dartmouth, NS!
This camp is a great opportunity for kids to try a new instrument, explore their interest in Piano, Singing or Theatre, and meet some great new friends!
Each day will start with full group warm-up activities. Students will then be divided into 2 age groups (6-8 and 9-12). Both groups will attend an introduction to Piano class and Singing class. Then we will all come together again and play Theatre Games, make musical crafts and more!

Hi! I am offering beginner sewing lessons, all ages, out of my home starting mid July. Please note that a cat also lives here.
I have a BFA from NSCAD in fashion & textile design. I've created collections for Atlantic Fashion Week and worked in professional sewing studios. I've also run some march break camps in other artistic mediums at Ross Creek Centre for the Arts for ages 8-11.
I would love to help you or your child feel more comfortable making their own things!
Lessons will be structured based on skill level and what you want to make.I'm most comfortable teaching basic construction, commercial pattern walk-throughs, stretch/dance/swimwear, and simple tops/bottoms/one-pieces.
Schedules are flexible and can be decided based on what works for you!

The Babysitter’s Training Course can help prevent injuries and promote the responsible management of common situations that may arise while children are under the care of babysitters.
The Babysitter’s Course is specially designed for pre-teens and teens to learn how to be a great babysitter, and feel safe doing it.
We cover how to stay safe, and how to keep the children safe, as well as how to and when to call for help. Our training includes calling 911, how to deal with behaviours and basic first aid. When teaching the participants, we also divide the child care into different age frames, Infants, Toddlers, Pre-Schoolers and School Aged children.

DLC Training is proud to offer the Canadian Safety Council’s “The Home Alone Program” course approx ever six weeks
A home alone course is designed to teach children ages 9 and older the necessary skills to stay safe, responsible and self-sufficient while at home without adult supervision for short periods of time
The course covers topics such as importance of a routine, emergency preparedness, basic first aid, home security, safe cooking, and internet safety. It also provides strategies for handling unexpected situations such as telephone calls and strangers and gives guidance to make responsible decisions.
The Student Reference Book which is theirs to keep is designed to allow them to actively participate in class assignments and to take home to review as well as additional information that will be of value to the students.
