Purpose: To ensure the proper operation of potato processing equipment and of Waste Water Treatment Plant equipment.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training requirements.
- Must be a licensed Industrial Mechanic or enrolled in the Industrial Mechanic apprenticeship program.
- The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible of providing training on safety policies, food safety practices, environmental programs, equipment, software, or any other required training, as needed.
- Training and integration will include assessments toward a defined set of progressive skills.
Safety requirements:
- Attend Safety Talks
- Follow Lockout / Tag-Out procedures and all McCain Safety Policies.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).Work safe and promote a safe working environment to fellow employees.
- Complete Job Safety Plans / Recognize safety hazards and correct them.
Job responsibilities:
- Carry out duties assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Complete scheduled work and Preventive Maintenance (PM) work.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment problems.
- Use the computerized maintenance management system for processing work orders and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Technically complete work orders and enter confirmation comments in SAP.
- Identify equipment malfunctions and create Notifications in SAP to have issues addressed.
- Create emergency or reactive work orders to complete unplanned jobs.
- Help maintain the shop and follow good housekeeping practices.
- Complete Hot Works Permits.

The Health and Safety Coordinator plays a key role in fostering a safety culture within Site location. This person will aid in the development and execution of the safety, health and security protocols for the safe design of the expansion to a new plant, focusing on continuous improvement of health and safety policies and procedures, injury prevention, H&S management, plant security, crisis management, and compliance with provincial and local regulations. This position focuses on implementing and overseeing effective health and safety protocols and practices within the organization. The Health and Safety Coordinator recommends process improvements to enhance workplace safety, provides project leadership in implementing safety initiatives, and oversees metrics to monitor trends and measure performance against key health and safety indicators.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provides exceptional support to ensure the implementation of health and safety initiatives that align with the organization's safety culture and goals.
- Works closely with the plant leadership team and HR Business Partner to promote a continuous improvement mindset and foster employee engagement in health and safety practices.
- Conduct safety audits, including rack inspections, and aid in the closure of audit findings' root cause corrective action within the required timeframe.
- Oversees and advises people leaders and employees on complex health and safety issues, including managing corrective action processes and attendance management.
- Collaborates with the leadership team to improve turnover and retention rates by implementing effective health and safety strategies.
- Verify external contractors' safety training and certification and carry out worksite audits.

POSITION PURPOSE:
The Production Management Trainee (PMT) position provides high potential, talented university graduates with an opportunity to join the McCain Team and establish a strong foundation in understanding the business with the purpose of developing into future leaders of McCain Foods.
PMT trainees will participate in a two-year Manufacturing Management development program, whereby a trainee will complete formal, self-guided, and applied learning experiences by partnering with senior, skilled subject matter experts in our manufacturing operations and plant teams. PMT trainees are provided cross-functional experience from "field to fork" within the product life cycle to learn all aspects of the manufacturing process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Observe experienced staff and gain knowledge about process, procedures, methods and standards that are required for performing a supervisory role within each of the program focus areas.
- Complete the structured progression plan and required assignments including on-the-job training, mentorship, self-guided learning, training courses and applied learning experiences through rotational assignments within the manufacturing process.
- Organize and lead work teams within assigned focus areas including scheduling, safety, daily operations, and performance management. Duties include decision-making, leadership, and administrative components of the roles assigned.
- Assuming a front-line supervisory role, complete assignments in each of the program focus areas (i.e. receiving, processing, packaging, quality, etc.).
- Develop talent and conduct on-the-job training with new employees ensuring they receive proper training in their positions.

The Health and Safety Coordinator plays a key role in fostering a safety culture within Site location. Job Responsibilities:

- Conduct safety audits, including rack inspections, and aid in the closure of audit findings' root cause corrective action within the required timeframe.
- Oversees and advises people leaders and employees on complex health and safety issues, including managing corrective action processes and attendance management.
- Collaborates with the leadership team to improve turnover and retention rates by implementing effective health and safety strategies.
- Verify external contractors' safety training and certification and carry out worksite audits.
- Maintain provincial and local regulations to ensure adherence to company, regulatory, and/or customer food safety requirements, including compliance with established procedures, documentation completion, and annual reviews.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports to track safety and operational performance.
- Conduct training on Food Safety, Health, and Safety for management and staff.

Qualifications:

Position Summary
We are looking for an Agricultural Intern to join us for a 3+ month period, starting in May 2024. This position is based in Grand Falls, New Brunswick as part of our North American Agriculture team.
During your internship, you will have exposure to grower relations, crop monitoring and intelligence, raw product alignment, cost of production, research and applied science and extension activities including agronomy and sustainability, and the general operation of a commercial agriculture department. You will also see firsthand how McCain's potatoes are produced and processed into finished product for our customers.You will be exposed to McCain manufacturing operations and will have the opportunity to complete a series of in-house training modules that are part of a wider McCain Agriculture training program.
Upon successful completion of the internship as well as completion of a diploma or degree in an agriculture field, you will be a step ahead of other candidates considered for full time employment within McCain Foods LTD.The Team

What You Will Be Working On
As an intern, you will be in a support position at the local office to research and analyze data to improve crop management in the area. Work is planned and conducted under the guidance of the Agronomist and with advice from the Department Manager. Projects may include the following:
- Assist in developing research needed to determine best practices for sustainability goals
- Investigate pest/disease management practices in the local area
- Statistical evaluation to identify best practices and data trends
- Track and evaluate potato varieties and their performance in the factory
- Monitor and analyze internal raw product inspection procedures
- Educate local growers on new field production and storage management techniques through written material, field demonstrations, tours, seminars, and workshops
- Promote relations between company and growers through periodic farm and storage visits
- Assist in collection and analysis of grower field and/or bin sampling program
- Analyze cost of production

What You Need to be Successful
- College Junior/Senior or Undergrad majoring in Ag Science, Plant Science, Ag Business, Ag Economics or closely related discipline
- Knowledge of farm practices and vegetable production is desirable but not necessary
- Basic to Intermediate skills in word processing, spreadsheet, data management and presentation preparations. Statistical computer application would be beneficial
- Communication skills – must be able to speak effectively both to individuals as well as to groups, making short presentations in groups settings, familiar with video conferencing
- Must be able to write routine correspondence and reports to a variety of audiences

POSITION PURPOSE:
The Production Management Trainee (PMT) position provides high potential, talented university graduates with an opportunity to join the McCain Team and establish a strong foundation in understanding the business with the purpose of developing into future leaders of McCain Foods.
PMT trainees will participate in a two-year Manufacturing Management development program, whereby a trainee will complete formal, self-guided, and applied learning experiences by partnering with senior, skilled subject matter experts in our manufacturing operations and plant teams. PMT trainees are provided cross-functional experience from "field to fork" within the product life cycle to learn all aspects of the manufacturing process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Position Summary
We are looking for an Agricultural Intern to join us for a 3+ month period, starting in May 2024. This position is based in Grand Falls, New Brunswick as part of our North American Agriculture team.
During your internship, you will have exposure to grower relations, crop monitoring and intelligence, raw product alignment, cost of production, research and applied science and extension activities including agronomy and sustainability, and the general operation of a commercial agriculture department. You will also see firsthand how McCain's potatoes are produced and processed into finished product for our customers.You will be exposed to McCain manufacturing operations and will have the opportunity to complete a series of in-house training modules that are part of a wider McCain Agriculture training program.
Upon successful completion of the internship as well as completion of a diploma or degree in an agriculture field, you will be a step ahead of other candidates considered for full time employment within McCain Foods LTD.The Team

What You Will Be Working On
As an intern, you will be in a support position at the local office to research and analyze data to improve crop management in the area. Work is planned and conducted under the guidance of the Agronomist and with advice from the Department Manager. Projects may include the following:
- Assist in developing research needed to determine best practices for sustainability goals
- Investigate pest/disease management practices in the local area
- Statistical evaluation to identify best practices and data trends
- Track and evaluate potato varieties and their performance in the factory
- Monitor and analyze internal raw product inspection procedures
- Educate local growers on new field production and storage management techniques through written material, field demonstrations, tours, seminars, and workshops
- Promote relations between company and growers through periodic farm and storage visits
- Assist in collection and analysis of grower field and/or bin sampling program
- Analyze cost of production

What You Need to be Successful
- College Junior/Senior or Undergrad majoring in Ag Science, Plant Science, Ag Business, Ag Economics or closely related discipline
- Knowledge of farm practices and vegetable production is desirable but not necessary
- Basic to Intermediate skills in word processing, spreadsheet, data management and presentation preparations. Statistical computer application would be beneficial
- Communication skills – must be able to speak effectively both to individuals as well as to groups, making short presentations in groups settings, familiar with video conferencing
- Must be able to write routine correspondence and reports to a variety of audiences
- A valid driver's license, comfortable flying/driving long distances
- Comfortable working outside in different weather conditions under the sun and variety of temperatures

You will be exposed to McCain manufacturing operations and will have the opportunity to complete a series of in-house training modules that are part of a wider McCain Agriculture training program.
Upon successful completion of the internship as well as completion of a diploma or degree in an agriculture field, you will be a step ahead of other candidates considered for full time employment within McCain Foods LTD.

What You Will Be Working On
As an intern, you will be in a support position at the local office to research and analyze data to improve crop management in the area. Work is planned and conducted under the guidance of the Agronomist and with advice from the Department Manager. Projects may include the following:- Assist in developing research needed to determine best practices for sustainability goals
- Investigate pest/disease management practices in the local area
- Statistical evaluation to identify best practices and data trends
- Track and evaluate potato varieties and their performance in the factory
- Monitor and analyze internal raw product inspection procedures
- Educate local growers on new field production and storage management techniques through written material, field demonstrations, tours, seminars, and workshops
- Promote relations between company and growers through periodic farm and storage visits
- Assist in collection and analysis of grower field and/or bin sampling program

What You Need to be Successful- College Junior/Senior or Undergrad majoring in Ag Science, Plant Science, Ag Business, Ag Economics or closely related discipline
- Knowledge of farm practices and vegetable production is desirable but not necessary
- Basic to Intermediate skills in word processing, spreadsheet, data management and presentation preparations. Statistical computer application would be beneficial
- Communication skills – must be able to speak effectively both to individuals as well as to groups, making short presentations in groups settings, familiar with video conferencing
- Must be able to write routine correspondence and reports to a variety of audiences
- A valid driver's license, comfortable flying/driving long distances

Position Summary
We are looking for an Agricultural Intern to join us for a 3+ month period, starting in May 2024. This position is based in Grand Falls, New Brunswick as part of our North American Agriculture team.
During your internship, you will have exposure to grower relations, crop monitoring and intelligence, raw product alignment, cost of production, research and applied science and extension activities including agronomy and sustainability, and the general operation of a commercial agriculture department. You will also see firsthand how McCain's potatoes are produced and processed into finished product for our customers.
You will be exposed to McCain manufacturing operations and will have the opportunity to complete a series of in-house training modules that are part of a wider McCain Agriculture training program.
Upon successful completion of the internship as well as completion of a diploma or degree in an agriculture field, you will be a step ahead of other candidates considered for full time employment within McCain Foods LTD.

What You Will Be Working On
As an intern, you will be in a support position at the local office to research and analyze data to improve crop management in the area. Work is planned and conducted under the guidance of the Agronomist and with advice from the Department Manager. Projects may include the following:- Assist in developing research needed to determine best practices for sustainability goals
- Investigate pest/disease management practices in the local area
- Statistical evaluation to identify best practices and data trends
- Track and evaluate potato varieties and their performance in the factory
- Monitor and analyze internal raw product inspection procedures
- Educate local growers on new field production and storage management techniques through written material, field demonstrations, tours, seminars, and workshops
- Promote relations between company and growers through periodic farm and storage visits

What You Need to be Successful- College Junior/Senior or Undergrad majoring in Ag Science, Plant Science, Ag Business, Ag Economics or closely related discipline
- Knowledge of farm practices and vegetable production is desirable but not necessary
- Basic to Intermediate skills in word processing, spreadsheet, data management and presentation preparations. Statistical computer application would be beneficial
- Communication skills – must be able to speak effectively both to individuals as well as to groups, making short presentations in groups settings, familiar with video conferencing
- Must be able to write routine correspondence and reports to a variety of audiences

…une carrière dynamique d’opérateur qualifié de machinerie forestière est peut-être pour toi!Le programme de formation des opérateurs de machinerie forestière est conçu pour préparer les étudiants à des postes d’opérateurs de machinerie forestière débutants.
Comme point de départ, les participants passeront une évaluation de présélection globale afin de s’assurer qu’une carrière comme opérateur de machinerie lourde est un bon jumelage pour eux. Le processus comprend 4 étapes et les candidats doivent passer chaque étape avant d’aller à l’étape suivante. Les étapes incluent:
Une évaluation de présélection, complété au moment de la demande d’application,
Une évaluation pratique avec un simulateur (estimée à 3-4 heures + déplacement vers un site d'évaluation),
Une évaluation de jumelage pour la carrière via internet (estimée à 1-2 heures, nécessite que le candidat ait accès à un ordinateur),
Des entretiens d'embauche avec les employeurs participants (estimés à 1-2 heures chacun, plus les déplacements), et en supposant un jumelage créé, le début d’un contrat de travail.
Les candidats, qui réussissent le processus de sélection et qui sont sélectionnés par un entrepreneur participant, s'inscriront en tant qu'étudiants et participeront à trois phases clés au cours du programme de 25 semaines, notamment:Le Programme
Foresterie 101 (5 semaines)
Composante en classe pour présenter les bases de la foresterie et des opérations forestières, les types de machines, les milieux de travail, les méthodes d’entretien préventif, la productivité des machines et d’autres importantes notions de foresterie. Ces concepts seront transmis par une série de séances, d’exercices pratiques et de formations sur des simulateurs de machinerie.
Formation de base (5 semaines)
Formation avec encadrement individuel sur des machines de récolte en action. Chaque candidat aura du temps de travail sur une abatteuse et un porteur au cours des cinq semaines et apprendra les techniques sécuritaires et efficaces d’exploitation, le fonctionnement des ordinateurs de bord et les saines pratiques d’entretien.
Formation avancée sur le fonctionnement de l'équipement (jusqu'à 15 semaines)
Les diplômés de la composante, qui traite de la formation de base, seront embauchés par un entrepreneur en récolte pour travailler en tant que membre de leur équipe, où ils recevront une instruction et un encadrement supplémentaires « sur le tas » de la part de prestataires de formation professionnelle.
Advenant le programme complété, les diplômés recevront un certificat du Collège communautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick et l'équivalent de 1 000 heures vers la désignation de métier de conducteur de machines d’abattage et de transitaire.
Les frais de scolarité sont de 3 500 $ et les étudiants peuvent être admissibles à un financement pour couvrir des dépenses spécifiques encourus au cours de certaines phases du programme.
Qu'est-ce que la récolte du bois?
Les entrepreneurs forestiers sont de petites entreprises, c’est-à-dire, la plupart emploient moins de dix personnes, mais quelques entreprises ont plusieurs équipes d’opérations qui peuvent compter près de 50 employés ou plus. Certaines de ces entreprises gèrent des opérations intégrées avec tous les services tandis que d'autres peuvent se spécialiser dans des domaines tels que les opérations d'éclaircie ou de déchiquetage dans les bois.
L'exploitation forestière n'est pas une mince affaire ! La plupart des postes sont d'une durée de 10 à 12 heures, 40 à 50 heures par semaine, et de nombreuses exploitations proposent des postes de jour et de nuit.
À l'échelle mondiale, la demande de produits forestiers augmente. Les matériaux de construction, les produits en papier et les fournitures d'emballage sont dérivés du bois récolté, sans oublier la grande variété de biens de consommation, tels que les tissus et même dans les ingrédients alimentaires pour des produits, comme le fromage!
Les personnes qui récoltent, transforment et transportent le bois -- les entrepreneurs forestiers et les opérateurs de machines -- rendent tout cela possible. Faites un pas pour devenir un opérateur de machine forestière qualifié MAINTENANT !
La formation débutera le 24 juillet 2023 et les 10 premières semaines se dérouleront à Miramichi, au Nouveau-Brunswick, puis la formation continuera sous forme pratique en cours d'emploi, avec les entrepreneurs forestiers participants de partout au Nouveau-Brunswick. Il y a 12 sièges disponibles et les candidatures sont acceptées jusqu'à ce que tous les sièges soient pourvus.
