CKC Registered Dalmatian Puppies!
Description
Now accepting applications for a Mid Summer litter! Do you wonder what CKC REGISTERED STANDS for? Its stands for Canadian Kennel Club Registered Dalmatians. All breeding dogs are from Canadian and/or American Champion bloodlines. It means that the puppies these dogs produce adhere to the National Breed standard, put in place to preserve the look of the Dalmatian.
Why does this matter?
We have been carefully breeding for generations, taking the time to carefully select Dam and Sire combinations, selecting for generations of great temperaments and have completed all of the required health testing according to the Dalmatian Club of Canada and Dalmatian Club of America requirements. Most of these health clearances can go 6 or more generations back into the pedigrees! All of my dogs are health tested for hearing, hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, eye disease, thyroid disease and heart disease.
When buying a Dalmatian puppy you should be asking the follwoing questions:
Is the Sire and Dam at least 2 yrs old? How often is she bred? (i.e. Every heat cycle?) Are the Parents Health tested? Are the puppies hearing tested? Do they have an SPCA License #? Where did they purchase the breeding dogs from? Do they know their breeding dogs pedigree? if they answer "no" to these questions, Buyer Beware! They have no idea of breed standards or what major genetic or inherited faults are. They are not breeding for the betterment of the breed, they are looking for a quick way to make money. Even having an SPCA license number only means the dogs are fed and feces is picked up, It has absolutely nothing to do with the quality of the puppy you are buying. This is not a breed that should be purchased from Back yard breeders or Puppy Mills!
If you think you would like to own a Dalmatian, do the research and find a CKC registered breeder, one that does health testing and obtain the proper documentation and CHIC numbers- Canine Health Information Center (- records all health testing on all purebred dogs.) CKC registered breeders do NOT breed dogs that are deaf, have incorrect markings and color, like patches and lemon color (any Breedings that produce this color should not be repeated!) or any dogs with major genetic or structural faults and do not pass all health tests and CKC breeders look for the very best in temperaments. CKC registered dogs have been shown to their Championship titles and often obtain performance titles to prove they are of breeding quality. Once these dogs reached breeding age, often close to 2 years of age, these breeders then spend a lot of time researching the right Stud dog for their female, a lot of times from somewhere else on North America to produce the best possible litter of puppies.
