Bezanson Agricultural Society has an immediate temporary, one-year full-time position open with the
opportunity of becoming permanent full-time.
Bezanson Ag Society’s purpose is to enrich the community through the encouragement of community spirit and well-being by providing facilities and recreational, educational programs and community opportunities. Facilities include the operation and maintenance of the Bezanson Community Event Centre which includes the Memorial Hall and the Buffalo Gravel Gymnasium, the Freezin’ Hub Catering and frozen food service, an outdoor horse arena, and ball diamond. The Centre caters to all local groups and surrounding area and hosts events, develops projects, and provides essential community initiatives. DiscoverBezanson.ca is the community website funded by BAS.
Bezanson Ag Society’s goals include increasing its sphere of influence by becoming more involved in the community and region, building relationships, and securing corporate sponsorships, and providing a specific and successful package of proprietary events and programming.
Executive Manager
The Executive Manager will work closely with the current E.D. and the Board of Directors, ensuring Vision and Business Plan are enacted and supporting the development of short-term and long-range plans.
• Duties: The Executive Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and operations of the Bezanson Agricultural Society.
• Implement & Maintain the Vision Implementation as per Strategic/Business Plan
• Budget: Manage budgets including tracking & analysis and implementation of cost reductions, increased profitability, reporting & draft budgets; fiscal oversight, oversees accounts payable & receivable
• Public Relations
o Networking: liaison between the board; committees; community groups; AAAS & service groups
o Relationships: collaborate & build connections with potential sponsors, donors & stakeholders
o Create Speaking Engagement Presentation
• Communications: Implement communication strategy & media platforms
• HR & Policy implementation
• Oversees staff management; volunteer recruitment/management; committees
• Generalized: fiscal oversight, oversees accounts payable and receivable, keeping track of project allocations, grant applications and reports, management, policy implementation, and other related responsibilities as directed by the Bezanson Agricultural Society Board.
• Ensures the Facility codes, permits, safety checks and requirements are up-to-date and recorded.
Qualifications:
1. Post-secondary degree in Recreation, Commerce, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related discipline.
2. Approximately 3 - 5 years relevant experience in a management position and/or community development.
3. Experience in strategic planning, and organizational development.
4. Experience coaching leaders and employees.
5. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other organizations, stakeholders and build effective relationships with user-groups, employees, other organizations, and the public.
6. Possess well-developed written skills including report writing, verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and ability to work under strict time restraints.
7. Positive can-do attitude and results-orientation.
8. Maintain focus on strategic goal and organizational vision in a fast-paced, evolving environment
9. Current Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector Check required at the start of employment, completed at the employee’s expense.
