We are currently recruiting a Industrial Mechanic who is located in Guelph or the surrounding area to be a part of an experience maintenance team. The successful candidate will be performing routine preventive maintenance on a number of different machines as well as responding to breakdowns or other issues in a highly automated plant. They will also assist in the ongoing development of the occupational health and safety program in the plant.

Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot problems on plant equipment and facilitate and determine maintenance requirements. Ability to go to root cause of problems. Perform proper follow up on repairs to implement long term solutions
- Respond to breakdowns on plant equipment, facility and building. Ability to determine the need for temporary solutions or permanent solutions based on time constraints given by production
- Maintain operation of the boiler systems, heating, steam and energy supply
- Assist in minor electrical repairs and reset safely
- Assists with the installation of plant equipment and occasionally assists in equipment design
- Know what fits are required for various services, including antifriction bearings and be able to make such fits
- Be able to handle heavy equipment safely and have knowledge of foundation work
Qualifications
- 433A Industrial Mechanic certification with 3 years of experience
- ability to work a rotating shift
- ability to work overtime as need
- successfully pass a criminal background check and pre-employment medical
