PACESHIP WESTWIND
This classic sailboat, built in Mahone Bay NS, has a draft of 5.5 ft with the centerboard/swing keel lowered and 2.1 ft with it raised. With 2,730 lbs of ballast and a displacement of 4,603 lbs, it sails comfortably and steady. Motor cruise in the shallow waters of bays and harbours and among the islands with the centerboard raised, or lower it and sail away. The outboard motor well is located in a fully enclosed compartment (lazarette) separated from the cockpit by a bulkhead and hinged cover. This feature dampens engine noise and makes motor crusing very enjoyable.
Hull in excellent condition above and below the waterline. Deck, and cabin in very good condition inside and out. Overall this boat is clean, and is "shipshape". It is ready for sailing now!- Main and jib with Harken Furler.

Brand new in box. I bought this and decided I wanted a bigger model so got a helix 7. Has chirp fishf inder and comes with Humminbird basemap for US which is pretty crap for Canada. However it does include autochart which allows you to chart the depth contours of your lake for yourself which will be far more accurate than most charts available for Canadian lakes. I use my boat in the sea and so the autochart function is not really of any interest. $315 obo

I have just taken a Yanmar YSM 12 out of my boat, an Ericson 30-2. The engine runs but has compression issues, I suspect it needs piston rings or possibly a piston. Most of the other parts (Fuel Pump, Water Pump, Exhaust Elbow, Starter, Alternator, etc.) are new or recent. I am posting here as my Mechanic says that the engines are increasingly rare, and parts are very hard to find.
I would entertain a reasonable offer for it.
The engine is in Halifax NS, I would prefer pick-up, but I might deliver it 4 or 5 hours for the a reasonable mileage fee.
I also have a Martec Eliptec LH 12D X 12P folding prop that fits a 1" tapered shaft

We are fortunate to have a large swimming pool to use during the winter months. This program allows you to bring your own kayaks into a warm, clean pool to practice and develop your skills. When it comes to capsizing a sea kayak there is a range of emotional and physical responses. This program is designed to allow you to explore the limitations of stability, build confidence and control, and most importantly how you will react when the kayak capsizes.
Join us in the pool to broaden your understanding of what can be done in a sea kayak and become more comfortable above and below the water.
PROGRAM AIMS
* Build confidence and control in your kayak while working on bracing, recovery and support strokes
* Develop your roll under the guidance of our coaching team
* Learn the rolling progression
During the 2-hour time slot
Self Guided: Come work on your own skills under the watchful eye of our coaching staff
Bracing, Stability and recovery: Join us in the pool for a formal session on blade awareness, support strokes and preventing capsize in a comfortable, warm pool
Learn to Roll: The sessions will then work through the rolling progression.
Program Dates: January 18, 25 February 8,22 March 1, 22 and April 5, 2025
Program Venue:
We will be using the pool at the Rath Eastlink Community Center Pool in Truro. The aquatic facility boosts an 8 lane, 25m pool, plus a shallow area that we will use for rolling instruction.
Equipment Requirements
Students are required to have all their own paddling gear to participate in this program. If you do not have your own kayaking gear, we offer equipment rentals for our pool this program. Sea kayak gear rentals are $30 and includes P&H Sea Kayak, Lendal Paddle, skirt, bailer, throw rope and helmet (if the program requires it). Equipment rentals should be arranged in advance of the program to ensure availability.
