Rosecrest Communities owns and operates Two continuing care facilities in Nova Scotia. To continue our growth and success, the Group requires the services of an experienced Maintenance Person. Reporting to the Building Systems Manager and working primarily at the Magnolia, located in Enfield, NS, the position will have responsibility for ensuring that the Group’s various buildings and properties are well maintained and in good condition.
The specific duties of the position will include:
• Performing day-to-day maintenance of building and property.
• Performing repairs, renovations, and upgrades in the areas of carpentry, painting, drywall, flooring and minor plumbing and electrical tasks.
• Identifying maintenance requirements and communicating these to the Manager.
• Assisting in the preparation of preventative maintenance plans.
• Trouble-shooting and problem-solving maintenance issues.
• Keeping properties and grounds neat and tidy.
• Supporting the maintenance teams within other companies in the Group.
• Operating motor vehicles, motorized equipment and power tools.
• Must participate in after hours on-call rotation.
• Other tasks as directed.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:
• Previous work experience in a similar position related to building maintenance.
• Mechanically inclined, with knowledge of building construction and repair.
• Knowledge of building systems.
• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
• Strong trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills, with the ability to deal effectively with a variety of people.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be available for scheduled on call rotation.
• Minimum Grade 12 education.
• Comfortable working in a long-term care environment.
Hourly wage is provided, commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position also offers a competitive group benefits package.
