Real Estate Assistant

Hollohan Properties is looking to hire a “Real Estate Assistant” that is quality driven and detail orientated. We offer flexible hours and a starting salary at $50,000/ year.
Here is what we'll need you to do:
Unit Management: Assist in advertising available rental units through various platforms, ensuring accurate and compelling property descriptions and images.
Tenant Interaction: Respond to inquiries from potential tenants, conduct property tours, and provide necessary information about the rental units.
Application Processing: Collect and review rental applications, conduct background, and credit checks, and communicate application statuses to applicants.
Lease Agreement Preparation: Assist in drafting lease agreements, ensuring all necessary clauses and terms are included and understood by both parties.
Rent Collection: Monitor and track rent payments, issue reminders for overdue payments, and coordinate with tenants to ensure timely rent collection.
Maintenance Coordination: Act as a liaison between tenants and maintenance personnel for repair and maintenance requests, ensuring prompt resolution.
Material Ordering: Manage and track inventory levels of materials needed for property maintenance and repairs. Place orders for materials as required, ensuring timely delivery and adequate stock levels.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of leases, tenant information, rental payments, and maintenance requests.
Tenant Relations: Foster positive relationships with tenants, address concerns, and ensure tenant satisfaction.
Reporting: Generate reports on property occupancy, rent collection, renovation progress reports and other relevant metrics for review by management.
You will be a good fit for our team if you:
Previous experience in real estate, property management, or a related field is preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective tenant interaction.
Organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
Familiarity with leasing procedures, contracts, and rental laws.
Proficiency in basic computer applications and property management software.
Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documentation and lease agreements.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Adaptability and problem-solving skills to address tenant and property-related issues effectively.
Working conditions:
This a remote/work from home position. It requires you to have your own vehicle, computer, and the ability to travel to the rental properties located on the Halifax peninsula.
Expectation of 30-35hour workweek with the occasional evenings/ weekends for rental viewings.
