1972 STARCRAFT "HOUSEBOAT"
Description
REDUCED and will consider TRADE on a C class motorhome> This is a one of a kind boat. It started as a 25' Aluminum Starcraft Chieftan MK4 I think it was called (not sure). It was a weekender with an inline Mercruiser I/O straight six which was toast. I completely gutted it, pulled the drivetrain out and put in a single floor front to back. I cut the cabin roof off and moved it back to the back and supported it on aluminum tubing for the roof. I put a brand new marine plywood transom in it and capped the hole on the outside with 1/2 aluminum plate and added a motor bracket that will support up to a 225 horse power I believe. I added benches down both sides at the front and on the back, there is a bench on the starboard side and the port side has a small bathroom and kitchen area , complete with sink, stove, microwave and ice box. It is set up with shore power and can run on Generator as well. It currently has a motor bracket on the back with a 15 HP merc long shaft kicker motor. It has fairly new upholstery throughout as well as a new headliner in the back roof area and new carpet throughout. I completed a full camper enclosure with vinyl windows in the back half. It has a nice stereo and also comes with a porta potty in the bathroom. Tons of storage. The front deck is covered in varnished cedar planking. it has two bilge pumps. It was in the water two seasons and never leaked a drop. It has a mid 70's Johnson 70 HP 3 cylinder motor. That was supposed to be rebuilt but had issues. I know what is wrong with it now. The power head was totally rebuilt and I have the receipt for the job but it has issues. All cylinders have 150 psi compression so the power head is great but now the fuel pump is leaking and apparently a gasket was omitted when the power head was re-installed. So, the engine is not currently running. It has a tandem trailer with newer tires, and surge brakes with a new surge coupler installed. I had an opportunity to pick up a pontoon boat last year so this one is for sale. Its basically almost a new boat. I will be happy to try and answer any questions you may have.
