Seniors to test an online tool ("KeepWell) for a research study
Description
Are you 65 years of age or older? - North York General Hospital researchers need your help to evaluate a web-based application called “KeepWell”. This tool empowers seniors to make positive lifestyle changes toward keeping well! No travel required, you can participate from the comfort of your own home.

- Once you read the study information, please email us at: keepwell@nygh.on.ca so we can schedule an enrollment phone call with one of our study coordinators.
By taking part in this research project, you can play a valuable role in helping seniors. The results of this study will help us to understand the effectiveness of the KeepWell application for helping seniors to manage their health and wellness. All the information you provide will be kept strictly confidential.
What is involved in participating?
- You will be randomly placed into one of two testing groups:
1. KeepWell group: We will ask you to use KeepWell for 6 months
2. Control group: You will be given access to KeepWell after the study ends
- All participants will be asked to complete a short health risk questionnaire at the start of the study (when you first login), at the mid-point of the study (3 months) and at the end of the study (6 months).
- You may also receive occasional emails from us, which will provide helpful information and reminders about keeping well
To be eligible, you must:
1. Live in Canada
2. Be 65 years of age or older (or turning 65 this year)
3. Have one or more chronic diseases
4. Have an email account
5. Have access to a computer or tablet device
