Job Description:Job Description Summary: Reporting to the Continuous Improvement Manager, the Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator provides support in planning, establishing, implementing and maintaining health, safety and environmental programs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: · Complying with requirements, legal requirements including policies, standards, rules, and programs · Assist in promoting an active health and safety culture at · Assist in implementing the health and safety systems and risk management systems by contributing to its continuous enhancement and completion of auditing requirements · Provide administrative support for incident management database and as required · Review and prepare reports on health and safety and monthly workplace inspection results · Review and maintain records of daily equipment checklists, First Aid inspections and address corrective actions · Build and develop JSA’s · Assist with the administration, training and maintenance of health and safety programs including but not limited to Working from Heights, Fire Safety and Emergency Preparedness, WHMIS/GHS, Ergonomics, PPE and Hearing Loss Prevention, Lockout/Tagout, Contractor safety, Machine Guarding · Review and maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) · WSIB case management and incident investigations · Facilitate health and safety training and maintain safety training records · Administer and maintain SQDCI boards/Safety Alerts/Safety Talks/Toolbox Talks program and training records · Participate as an active management representative and liaison with the Joint Health and Safety committee to communicate and record meeting minutes, agenda and meeting schedule · Actively participate as a safety representative for at customer work site safety meetings to communicate and address concerns regarding the health and safety of and its contractors · Promote effective communication and dissemination of relevant health and safety information · Support the planning, organizing, directing and monitoring of health and safety programs, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legislative and requirements · Interface with field staff and support project site work · Assist with and be able to perform job safety analysis, analyze operations, identify risks and implement preventative measures · Support with the coordination of incident investigations; document and supervise preventative and corrective action · Support environmental compliance and initiatives such as spill control, wastewater by-laws and recycling · Keep abreast of developments in health and safety legislation and practice · Requirement to work with safety professionals across our Canadian locations. · Other duties and tasks as assigned Qualifications: · Degree or diploma in occupational safety and health · Excellent understanding of the Occupational Health & Safety Act, with preference of knowledge in Industrial and Construction regulations, and other worker safety standards and their application, and a willingness to learn · Strong verbal and written communication skills · Proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc) · Must be able to work in a team environment · Creative problem-solving ability · Outward facing with good interpersonal skills · Self-motivated with good organizational capability · Must have a valid driver’s licence for travel in Ontario Company Description Fast Employment Services is leading Employment group in GTA.
