Job Description:POSITION SUMMARY Process Systems Integration (PSI) is the controls and systems integration division of the Process Group Inc. The following is a listing of PPS services:Electrical EngineeringPanel Design and ManufacturingOnsite Control Panel modificationsProgramming SupportPanel and Machine Startup and Commissioning SupportTraining and Operator ManualsFull Range of Engraving and Labelling Solutions The Integration Manager is directly responsible for all technical and resource matters relating to the execution of work in both divisions. The VP Integration coordinates all staffing within PSI and PPS unless otherwise directed on a specific project. The VP Integration works closely with the Account Managers in both divisions to monitor sales levels in order to properly balance resources and workloads. The VP Integration is responsible for ensuring accurate scheduling planning and execution of all work. The VP Integration, in conjunction with the Account Managers, is also responsible for ensuring that the project teams have the proper training and tools to effectively execute projects in a profitable, efficient and timely manner. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Health and Safety a. Be fully conversant with PG Safety Policy & Program b. Maintain a working knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act, and its Regulations c. Uphold safe working practices as described in the PG Safety Policy and Program d. Work diligently to insure the safety of themselves and others working around them e. Work in conjunction with the Division Account Managers, the PG Health and Safety Officer and PG customers to ensure proper training and preparation for staff prior to commencing work on a particular project or site. 2. Business Development and Sales a. Participate in the development of quotations and proposals from a technical perspective. Provide possible design, hardware and resource solutions to Account Managers while bidding a perspective project. b. Support Account Managers at technical reviews and presentations with customers. c. Maintain a constant lookout for potential projects that might suit any of the PG business units and report those leads back to the respective Division Managers. 3. Operations a. Instruction of staff, in conjunction with the Account Managers, on the specifics of project estimates and schedules to facilitate knowledge transfer to staff who are responsible for detailed Panel Design, Controls Design, Procurement, Programming of Various PLC’s and HMI’s, SCADA systems and the like typically found in plant/process automated systems, Robotic programming, onsite debug and startup of completed systems. b. Participate in the design and programming of projects on an as required basis when the demands on resources deem it necessary. c. Develop structures and systems within the execution side of the business to promote efficiencies and to strive for constant improvement. d. Manage and monitor resources and coordinate with the Account Managers to maintain an efficient level of staffing. Minimizing non productive/non billable labour costs. e. Monitor the project management of costs, deliverables, scope change, schedule, and completion timelines are also within the domain of responsibility for projects sold. f. Ensure that Purchasing Requisitions are on the required forms with sufficient detail to cover all requisite requirements; when completing paperwork group materials separately to assist in identifying purchase requirements all in accordance with company policies and procedures. g. Travel both locally and internationally to support customers as required. Although travel is minimal in this role, the potential for travel does exist. h. Support customers during regular hours, after hours and on weekends as required. 4. Financial Planning and Budgeting a. Participate in budget review meetings with the Account Managers and provide feedback as required. b. Participate in Corporate sales planning meetings in order to provide feedback and monitor the direction of the company in order to properly plan resource requirements. 5. Human Resources a. Adhere to the Process Group Company Policy. b. Monitor the performance of all team members and provide feedback to the Account Managers on a regular basis. c. Assist the Account Managers with the maintenance and upkeep of accurate training records for each employee in order to promote personal growth for individuals as well as balanced growth for Process Group Inc., as a whole. d. Monitor your own personal growth as well as balanced growth for PSI/PPS as a whole. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS 1. Requires a post-secondary diploma or equivalent level of literacy – working knowledge of computerized reporting systems and word process/spreadsheet software will be mandatory. 2. Ability to organize the various functions for which the position is responsible – must be a detailed individual. 3. Ability to resist stress created by unequal work loads and maintain a persistent and pleasant disposition with customers, management, field and office employees. 4. Requires strong mechanical and electrical aptitudes and experience in the automation industry, specifically with regard to electrical drawing review, standard coding practices for PLC and HMI’s / SCADA systems typically found in industrial control systems. 5. Ability to work with a multitude of different vendors hardware to execute required duties and responsibilities. 6. Strong troubleshooting skills, quick and decisive learning curve regarding drawings and systems previously completed by others. 7. Ability to manage people and work closely coordinating with other departments and individuals. 8. Ability to coach subordinate team members and provide feed back and direction on their development and training. 9. Although the majority of Process Group’s workload will be domestic (within 4 hours of travel from head office), some traveling from time to time may be required. PERFORMANCE INDICATORS 1. Leadership and demonstration of self directed management of assignments 2. Organization and ability to establish priorities 3. Effective multi-task management and timely completion of assignments 4. Completeness of technical & commercial documentation 5. Appropriate level of job planning, scheduling and communication with panel designers, controls designers, engineers, PLC and HMI / SCADA programmers, and PPS shop personnel. 6.
