Receptionist/Administrative Assistant with Ophthalmic Tech Support – Maternity Coverage (Potential for Permanent Position)
Location: Alberta, Canada
Employment Type: Full-Time (Monday to Friday)
Duration: Maternity Coverage (with the possibility of staying on permanently)

Are you looking for an opportunity to join a dynamic healthcare team? We are a well-established ophthalmology medical office in Alberta seeking a professional, friendly, and reliable individual to cover a maternity leave with the potential for a permanent position after the coverage period ends. This role involves both administrative and ophthalmic technician responsibilities, and full training will be provided.
Responsibilities:
• Reception and Administrative Support:
o Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a warm and professional experience.
o Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage patient inquiries.
o Maintain patient records and update information in our system.
o Manage office supplies and assist in general office administration.
• Ophthalmic Technician Support:
o Assist with preliminary testing for patients, including visual acuity, tonometry, and other basic diagnostic tests.
o Prepare patients for exams with the ophthalmologist and provide support during exams as necessary.
o Ensure medical equipment is cleaned and maintained properly.
Requirements:
• Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred but not required.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
• A team-oriented attitude with a desire to learn.
• Previous experience or an interest in ophthalmology or medical technology is an asset, but full training will be provided.
