Math Tutoring
I am a highschool math teacher for over 20 years that is offering tutoring services online.
I believe that mathematics should be about making connections and understanding rather than memorizing facts. I believe that sometimes small changes can have a large impact on student understanding. I also believe that there are many ways to approach a topic and I can help consolidate something taught in class, or give a student a different perspective or even just lend a helping hand. Improving a student's confidence is of utmost importance and sometimes getting a little bit of extra help can have a huge impact.
I have a lot of experience teaching applied, academic, destreamed. I have taught MTH1W (grade 9 destreamed on 7 different occasions), MPM2D and MFM2P, I teach MCR3U but can also teach MCF3M and 3C and am an expert with MHF4U and MCV4U and have taught MDM4U in the past. I do have a honours specialist in math but I find that my years of experience teaching children gives me insight into how to approach a topic.
I use an online platform called Bramble where your child will be sent a link and we can work collaboratively online. It is best to have a computer or chromebook or ipad with a mouse or writing utensil so that we can converse in real time. Being online does save time and money driving and can fit into a family's busy schedule.
I can also offer tutoring in my home in Dorchester.Cost: $50 per hour etransfer normally Tuesday or Wednesday evenings.
Please text Denise at 226 580 9113 with name, grade and school student attends. I am happy to answer any other questions.
