Description
African horned flower beetle larvae (Mecynorhina polyphemus) - sold as PAIRS ONLY!
IF YOU SEE THIS AD, IT IS STILL AVAILABLE. AND BEFORE YOU ASK - NO DISCOUNTS/TRADES)
I have some surplus captive bred beetle larvae available for sale. They are in their 3rd instar now. The adult beetles are gorgeous, green with ivory patches, and the males have horns.
I am selling them as sexed pairs, for $80 a pair. First come first serve, Etransfer to reserve. I will update the ad with availability as they are being sold.
UPDATE: Only 6 pairs left in stock.
The larvae are considered low maintenance and easy to keep. They require a suitable leaf compost substrate, flake soil, or decomposing wood as food. Development takes about 5 months, after which they pupate in the substrate. Adult flower beetles can be kept at room temperature in a large box with some substrate to burrow into. Substrate can be soil, moist wood shavings, or even fallen leaves collected outside. Feed twice a week with banana, apple, or gecko jelly pots. Overall calm and great for handling. They can fly, so never handle them close to an open window. With proper care this species can live for up to 2 years as adults.
*Photos of adult beetles are for illustration only. I do not have adults for sale.
Price is firm, low-ballers will be ignored. I am not under pressure to sell, so please take your time. If you want them shipped - let me know your location and I'll get back to you with the shipping cost. *No winter shipping when temperatures are below freezing, pick up only.* All sales are final. No Refunds. No trades. No discounts. No price-shaming.
