Terminal Manager

Are you a Terminal Manager with critical thinking skills who thrives on working independently? Do you have a background in distribution, business, or transportation management? Are you experienced maintaining vendor relationships, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a high standard of health and safety? Do you enjoy developing teams and pride yourself in being able to manage all aspects of successful transportation terminal?
If you answered yes to these questions, we might have the job for you! Our client is an industry leader in mineral-based solutions and are looking for a Terminal Manager in beautiful Nanaimo.

Responsibilities
What will you be doing?
Managing vessel discharge and daily truck shipments
Quality control, including product testing
Preventative maintenance and repairs
Responsible for the terminal P&L and the operating budget, including billing
Manage vendor relationships
Containing contaminants and ensuring environmental safety
Managing and developing employees
Scheduling hourly staff
Qualifications
What are we looking for
Ability to work a day shift from Monday-Friday, while being on call to respond to all issues as needed
5 years of experience within a Supply Chain, Trucking, Warehousing, or Terminal Operations environment
Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain relationships
Ability to identify process improvements and communicate them to upper management and staff
Keen attention to detail
Previous experience managing vendors
