This role is in a recession proof industry, and will allow you to further develop your skills as a tradesperson. If you don't have experience in the Food Industry, please still apply as food experience is not mandatory for this position.
Day Shift 6:30am to 3pm - Monday to Friday
$38 per hour to start
In this role you will be maintaining equipment such as:
- piston fillers, volumetric fillers
- scales
- kettles, cooling equipment
- extruders
- x-ray and metal detection equipment
- spiral freezers
- high speed packaging equipment
- sensors, control systems

- can handle minor electrical troubleshooting
- knowledge of refrigeration is a bonus
- ideally you can TIG weld, but at minimum have a strong knowledge of welding processes and are willing to learn
- have reliable transportation and be ok with a 30-40 minute commute
- able to work with a variets of common allergens, such as shellfish, mustards, nitrates
- able to work in a facility that has raw meats being cooked

Courtland is looking for a Mechanic Assistant to join our Team in Tillsonburg, Ontario. The Mechanic Assistant is required to perform skilled tasks in the mechanical repair and maintenance of vehicles and also equipment such as mowing tractors, loaders, snow removal equipment, salt spreaders, etc. The candidate must be able to analyze, troubleshoot, dismantle, align, assemble and adjust mechanical equipment and machinery to maintain it in efficient operating condition. Work assignments will be received in the form of oral or written work orders, but the employee is expected to determine the nature and extent of needed repairs. This position is permanent full-time with some on/call duties during the winter season.
Requirements:
Possess a valid drivers license
Proven mechanical abilities in gas and diesel automotive repairs
Knowledge and experience in electrical diagnostic and repair
Hydraulic knowledge and experience
Welding is an asset
Ability to work independently in a busy environment
Experience with routine maintenance operations
Able to work well under pressure
Strong attention to detail
Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
Completion of college/vocational or technical training is an asset
Class A Mechanic’s License is an assetDuties:
Provide vehicle troubleshooting and diagnostic repairs
Installation of new and added-on equipment
Conduct repairs, modifications on vehicles
Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs to municipal equipment in order to ensure that the equipment is available, reliable and safe to operate
Accurate completion of work orders
Test repaired equipment for proper performance
Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work (undercoating, washing, detailing, etc)
Maintain safe working conditions and adhere to occupational health and safety regulations
Perform in a team environment with minimal supervision
Other mechanical repair work as required
Maintenance of yard/shop areasWork Conditions
24/7 availability may be required
Physical ability to lift up to 50lb
Travel to off-site locations may be required
Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots
