Annual Myasthenia Gravis Walk for Awareness
Description
MYASTHENIA GRAVIS (MG) is a chronic autoimmune, neuromuscular disease that causes weakness in the skeletal muscles that worsens after some time. These muscles are responsible for functions involving breathing and moving parts of the body—examples including but not limited to lungs, heart, arms, legs, and facial muscles. MG is often referred to as "snowflake disease" or "rag-doll syndrome" because it differs so much in each individual. In addition, each patient can vary significantly in the degree of muscle weakness and muscles affected.
The Myasthenia Gravis Walk for Awareness will be held on June 24, 2023, from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at Sir Stanford Flemming Park, 260 Dingle Road, Halifax.
