Jewellry Noire is a curated jewellry showcase and sale celebrating adornment that lives in shadow. Unique and unusual to dark and odd.
This one-day sale event brings together independent jewellers, metalsmiths and accessories artisans whose work explores the strange and unusual, Gothic elegance, memento mori, ritual symbolism, bone, relic, and the beautifully macabre.
Created as a focused alternative to general vending markets, Jewellry Noire is designed to elevate craftsmanship, narrative, and material. This is not a curiosity show, nor a craft fair, but a deliberate gathering for those who see jewelry as wearable art and symbolic object.
Jewellry Noire will feature artisans working in silver, gold, mixed metals, bone, stone, leather, and unconventional materials, as well as designers inspired by mourning traditions, occult symbolism, historical ornament, and contemporary Gothic and Dark Arts design.
Jewellry Noire draws from the same cultural ecosystem as Halifax Oddities & Curiosities Show and Dark Odd Artists (D.O.A)— dark art, and alternative fashion scenes. The vendor market is produced by the folks that stage the Oddities show and DOA.
The audience is composed of enthusiasts, collectors, and buyers who value intention, originality, and meaning as much as visual impact.
Expect a slower, more thoughtful engagement between vendors and attendees, with space to appreciate detail, process, and story.
The inaugural Jewellry Noire sale will take place Saturday, July 11 at Maritime Hall at Halifax Forum (2091 Windsor St; Almon St parking lot; enter beside the Bingo Hall.) Show hours 10am—4pm. Admission $5 at the door.

This will be our 13th Canada Day yard sale. In the past several years we have been inviting quality vendors to join us at our weekend sale and this year, we hope to have our biggest and best sale yet!
With a focus on gas/oil collectibles, advertising, soda, vintage toys, etc, you can also expect to find tools, antiques, collectibles, new old stock items, home decor/repair and gardening items. There is also a 30x60 foot barn full of items including a section with Crystals, fossils and megalodon teeth!
We are looking for a few more quality vendors so please don't hesitate to contact us, but please understand that space is limited so we reserve the right to be selective of the right vendors for the event.
Vendor fee is $25 for Saturday and also Sunday.
This small fee is payable by e-transfer upon acceptance and non-refundable except in the case of a weather event in which the sale is not possible.
WE ENCOURAGE OTHER NORTH RIVER RESIDENTS TO SET UP AT THEIR OWN SPOTS AS WELL ON THIS WEEKEND.. THE TRAFFIC IS GREAT!!!!

The Society is a non-profit organization committed to offering free, non-credit, university-level humanities education to adults living on low incomes in the Halifax Regional Municipality. Students from a range of ages and backgrounds come together with volunteer university professors to study the great works of Western philosophy, literature, political theory, theology, and art, at no cost whatsoever to students. These classes can be life-changing, and are only possible with your support.

Anne of Green Gables - The Ballet returns to Halifax on April 23rd and 24th to the Dal Arts Centre. This will be the final Nova Scotia performance of this incredible ballet and for the retiring Hannah Mae Cruddas from Dartmouth NS. Tickets are still available for both nights. It’s a beautiful and moving production not to be missed.

We are looking for a gritty Industrial location, warehouse or barn for a weekend film shoot.Minimum size 1500 sq feet with power and heat. Within 20 km of Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Shoot Dates: Saturday, January 27th and Sunday, January 28th.
Our budget is $100 per day... For a total of $200 for the 2 days.
