The Compressor Pump (The Cast Iron Head): * The Stamp: Reads "Brunner Mfg Co. of Canada Ltd. - Toronto, Ont."
The History: Brunner was one of the premier names in heavy-duty commercial air compressors and refrigeration units during the early-to-mid 20th century. Their pumps were legendary for being "built like a tank"—made of solid cast iron and designed to be rebuilt over and over. They were standard issue in old automotive repair garages, gas stations, and machine shops.
The Air Tank (Receiver):
The Stamp: Reads "Toronto", "Shop 22465", "No 1969", and the date "21-7-36" (July 21, 1936).
The History: This confirms the tank itself is 90 years old. In the 1930s, heavy pressure vessels like this were tightly regulated and stamped by the manufacturer (likely Toronto Iron Works or a similar local foundry) to ensure they met Canadian safety standards.
The Pressure Switch:
The Stamp: "Square D Company Canada, Limited - Toronto, Ont."
The History: Square D is a massive name in electrical components. This is a vintage, heavy-duty mechanical pressure switch (Class 9013) that tells the electric motor when to turn on (when tank pressure drops to 120 lbs) and when to shut off (when it reaches 150 lbs).
