This truck was used as a cattle truck. Box still rises like a dump truck. Because it was a commercial vehicle, it was inspected every year. Parked 3yrs ago and before that, it had $5000 worth of brake work, new clutch. 5 speed manual, two speed rear end. Engine is either a 360 V8 or 390 V8 that has been rebuilt by previous owner. Truck runs and drives, there is a leak on driver side break line and brake booster is not working, can be driven forward and reverse on flat ground to see that it does drive. Bought in Kansas, been in Ontario at least 30 years with good Ontario ownership in my name. A few small rust areas but mostly a really solid 77 year old car. This is a MODIFIED CAR, if you are looking for one to restore to original look elsewhere. Has a Camaro subframe and 10 bolt rear end, 455 Buick engine and turbo 400 transmission. The top frame has been restored and there is a black cloth top included, most of the chrome plating is done so if you know anything about that then you know the associated cost, likely more than what we are asking for the whole car. Door and quarter window glass is new and tinted grey and the frames have been plated.
External sheet metal is pretty straight and solid. The front grill has been restored and is beautiful. All the convertible stuff is there and most of the rest of the parts too. Has seats and door panels from a 47 Cadillac convertible so they are more plush than the Buick if you choose to use them. Will not accept offers over the internet or phone unless they are for more than the asking price. Will not answer stupid questions, "is it still available" etc. Bring your wife, girlfriend if your wife allows it, significant other etc. We hoped to get this one done one day but have too many projects (3 on the go presently) and running out of years so sadly don't think I will ever get to this one. It will make a beautiful modified street rod. Reasonable offers may be considered after you have seen the car. Looking for something pre 64 to tow our travel trailer so might consider a trade. I recently acquired this old RARE gem as part of a job cleaning up an old farm and found this truck in an old drive shed.
I know very little about it since the owners of the property knew nothing.
I did find the CAMPER SPECIAL metal logos, and the vin plate does mention the camper weight. It seems like the truck was right in the middle of a motor upgrade or something.
The wiring harness isn't hooked up.
Dual exhaust is hooked up; 'rad is hooked up, as are most of the vacuum and tranny lines, etc. It looks like the wiring harness needs to be hooked up to the engine, but it's all there. I will eventually get to it, as I am a mechanic, so an old chev small block wiring won't take but an hour tops.
'Plow harness looks complete and has extra hydraulic levers and lines for accessories.
Truck is an automatic; has vacuum hubs not lockers - possibly upgraded, not stock. Has extra leaf springs in rear end. Heavy duty brakes both axles.
Body seems to all be metal . Shame the long scratch down the drivers side. Frame looks to be in great shape as does the floor of the cab.
Seems like this truck was being prepped to be put back on the road. It all seems very sound and well maintained.
Now I see these trucks being priced all over the scale, but rarely see an actual camper special. It comes with both sets of rims you see on it . The 20's and the stock 15's
So for now I'm going to see if there's any serious offers. I'm not going to accept 2500 bucks or something ridiculous like that but I'm also not looking for 10 grand.
So if you like it . Msg me and I'm sure we could work out a deal . Please don't message me asking how it runs or the condition of the tranny it will just tell me that you didn't read or understand the add and your wasting both our time. I will get around to hooking up the engine harness but that will obviously help set the price firm. As I said the truck looks like it was destin for the road in real short order before I bought it and it's relatives from the farm. So right now I'm selling it as is. Not hurting to sell it ' but it does need someone to finish what was started. It's in very nice condition. Someone's project over years that never was finished. That's about all I know guys. This car has never been touched as far as restoration goes. All glass is in place and in good condition. Original jack and spare tire is there ( spare still holds air). Engine stuck and will need to be changed. I have a replacement engine and transmission from a 1959 that will fit it. Some body work will be required. Please no time wasters, tire kickers, free agents need apply. If you are really serious enough about this vehicle you will make an appointment to see it in person I am sure that you will be impressed with what you see., there is no evidence of bondo filler in it anywhere. Asking $17.500 there are many extra parts that go with the car such as complete front and rear ends including springs steering linkage etc.

1968/69 Volvo 144S. B18 motor, disc brakes all around, dual SU carbs, automatic, original AM radio, new fibreglass front fenders, new non-professional paint,but still nice, in original Volvo cherry red, good interior, new carpet, 3 point seat belts in front, bucket front seats with headrests, brake light rear window, new flex brake lines, new emergency brake cable, new pads and shoes, all controls, lights and gauges work and original NIKE jack and original spare tire in trunk(were they thin then).
Just installed new tie rod, tie rod ends, both steering rods, sway bar links, control arm bushings with alignment. Steering box rebuilt.
Some metal work in trunk wheel wells.
Extra set of exterior trim,spare clear windshield, 4 extra Volvo pinwheel rims, no centre caps. New tires, date code 20/21. Spray can of Volvo red #46 included.
Proper adjustment of kick down cable fixed automatic shudder previously noted.
Surprisingly solid car. As shown in pictures, door sills are solid, don't think any work done here. Car was undercoated so seems very solid underneath. No cracks in dash, looks great.
This motor with the SU carbs has good power. Great if you want to vintage rally it. Pick up a 4 speed tranny without the overdrive and go have fun. They were regularly rallied back then. Or just enjoy regular drives.
1968 Volvo 140 service manual and second book included.
These seem to be getting rare.
