CAMH is seeking individuals for a study that provides free access to a mindfulness meditation app for up to 1 year to help improve mental well-being. We are seeking individuals 18 and up, who are fluent in English, have a smartphone and access to the internet, and are currently waiting for psychosocial services (e.g., group or individual psychotherapy, assessments, referrals, etc.).
Participants complete a baseline interview session online and then follow-up questionnaires for up to 3 months. After this, you have access to the app free for another 9 months.
What's involved: One baseline orientation session (conducted online) and monthly follow-up surveys (~15-20 minutes) for 3 months. All procedures can be completely remotely (onsite can be requested). All participants will be compensated for the time it takes to complete assessments.

The Cognition in Psychological Disorders Lab at Queen's University is studying thinking skills and how these relate to everyday activities. The study involves a Zoom call where you will answer questions and complete cognitive tests. Additionally, you will receive surveys to your smartphone for 15 days. You can receive up to $90 in compensation based on how many surveys are completed.

We are currently looking for participants for a research study on the use of wearable and IoT devices to help public health officials better understand the impact of crisis and emergency events on our healthy behaviors.
Our study makes use of crowdsourcing, which means that we are looking for research participants that ALREADY HAVE wearables and IoT devices and are willing to share their data and help improve public health.

University of Waterloo Anxiety Study Researchers are looking for NON-ANXIOUS research participants located in Ontario. Complete the following survey if you are 18+ years of age and are NOT bothered by the following:
- Low Mood
- Anxiety Difficulties
- Extreme Shyness
- Bothersome or worrisome thoughts
- Panic Attacks
- DepressionParticipation will involve completing a 5-minute confidential online questionnaire to determine eligibility. If eligible, you will complete a second online questionnaire in which you will be asked about your attitudes and general interpersonal tendencies, as well as your emotions in the moment (e.g., feeling interested, excited, upset, irritable) and demographic information (e.g., age, gender, country of birth). Scanning tickets at the door;
Helping people with wayfinding - directing people towards the closest washroom, or to the venue their show is in;
Watch the show, and exit the performance to notify the box office if you notice an emergency happening in the audience;
Reset the audience seating to a performance ready status.We have a great staff that will help you receive all the training you need to do these tasks at the beginning of your shift.

We are seeking individuals aged 18-65, who are fluent in English, have access to the internet, have a desire to reduce alcohol/substance use, and are not currently receiving any other psychotherapy services.

We are looking for parents of 8- to 13-year-old children to participate in a research study evaluating a newly developed parenting program, run by researchers at McGill University.
You may be eligible for the study if you:
- Are a parent or legal tutor of a young person aged 8-13 years old living in Canada
- Have a stable internet connection and videoconferencing software (Microsoft Teams)
- Are able to read and communicate fluently in EnglishYour role will include being randomly assigned to participate in one of two conditions:
1. The Parenting C.A.R.E. Group: Participants will be asked to attend five virtual synchronous 90-minute sessions, aimed at teaching emotion regulation and emotion socialization skills. Virtual sessions will be held on Mondays from 7:30-9 pm, beginning January 23rd.
- OR -
2. The Parenting Skills Group: Participants will be asked to attend one virtual synchronous 90-minute virtual session, that teaches key elements from the Parenting C.A.R.E. Program.

Do you use cannabis and also experience posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms? CAMH researchers are seeking participants to examine how quitting cannabis changes cognitive function and PTSD symptoms.
You may be eligible if you are between the ages of 18 and 65 and:
- Have been diagnosed with PTSD,
- Frequently use cannabis or have been diagnosed with cannabis use disorder, and
- Are actively taking an antidepressant.The approximate length of study is up to 12 weeks and compensation will be provided.

Are you a driver in Canada aged 30-45 years old? Have you had a G license for at least 3 years? Do you drive at least a few times a month?
We are conducting an online study to understand drivers’ interaction with automated braking systems in their cars.
This study will take place via Zoom. In this study, you will be asked to view various video recordings and answer questions about them.
If you choose to participate, you will be compensated with $25. The experiment session should take around 75 minutes to complete. (Note that you may withdraw at any time during the study and will be compensated based on the time you spend on a pro-rated basis. Similarly, if your session takes longer than 75 minutes, you will receive additional compensation based on the additional time you spend).

Researchers at St. Michael's Hospital are looking for healthy Male and Female participants to join their study looking at the male vs. female sex hormones on the immune system.
Participation involves giving a blood sample, getting a dose of the standard influenza vaccine, and providing another blood sample at 3-4 weeks post-vaccination. Researchers from Nutrition Discovery (ND) Labs at Toronto Metropolitan University are conducting a study to compare the effects of animal and plant-based burgers on appetite, pleasantness and sensory characteristics in 24 adults.
Who can participate?
In order to participate, you must:
- Be 18 – 45 years of age, and
- Be healthy with a Body Mass Index (BMI) between 18.5 - 24.9 kg/m2, and
- Not dieting or have significant weight fluctuations, and
- Not be taking any medication(s) that influence diet, and
- Be able and willing to eat a standard breakfast (strawberry cereal bar, fruit salad and,
- orange juice), beef AND a plant-based burger and drink a diet coke, and
- Not be allergic to the study ingredients (beef, egg, gluten, milk, sesame, soy, sulphites, wheat)
Time Commitment:1 Screening Visit (45 minutes) + 2 Lunch Test Sessions (90 minutes, breakfast and lunch included)
As a thank you for participating, a $20 honorarium will be provided for each Lunch Test Session

Looking for volunteers to help prepare and hand out food to the underhoused and those in need in Moss Park area. Tuesdays 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.

The volunteers will work together with a community development group based in Mumias district in the Western Province of Kenya. The group was formed with the aim to improve the educational standards of the orphans and vulnerable children in the community, so that they would be able to take care of themselves. The group is running a local orphanage school, which is visited by 10 orphans and 16 widows. The orphans and widows are being supported through the sales of maize produced from the group's small farm. This caters for the orphans’ basic needs i.e. food, clothing and shelter. The main purpose of the group is to mobilize the community and self-help groups to participate in grassroots efforts in poverty eradication.
Volunteer activities:
• Farm work which involves weeding, digging and planting maize, beans and vegetables
• Brick making for the construction of a school
• Exchange programs and debates in school
• Teaching Mathematics, English, Science, Social studies
• Engaging in sports activities as well as playing with the childrenProject dates: November 6 - November 23, 2022

We're looking for Canadian parents and adolescents to participate in a study on text message communication being done by researchers at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health.
You may be eligible for the study if you:
- Are a parent or guardian of a young person aged 13-18 living in Canada
- Communicate with each other in English by text messageYour role will include:
1. You and your child meet with a research assistant virtually
2. Fill out online surveys and securely send in the text messages between you and your adolescent
3. Complete 4 short, monthly surveys
4. Fill out surveys 5 months later and securely send in parent-adolescent texts over the past 5 monthsData will be analyzed anonymously.
Compensation is provided for parents and adolescents. Adolescents can receive community service volunteer hours.

The girls have now fled the danger from the Russian attacks, to safety, to Poland and perhaps soon to Canada.
