5 Yr Old Started Mare

Description

The right fit hasn't come along yet for this sweet mare.
Roughly 5 year old grade mare
Blue roan

14.2 hh, fine build.
Barely started!!!! Has had roughly 12 rides on her. Would make a great 4-H project for an experienced youth!
Pros:

✔️ Led kids around on her
✔️ Ridden over tarps
✔️ Not spooky
✔️ Not very mare-like
✔️ Confirmed open by thorough vet check (no surprise foal!!)
✔️ Dewormed in January 2024, and then 2 rounds of oral ivermectin 21 days apart in August.

Things to work on:

⬜️ Occasionally tries to buck between a trot and lope. Not an aggressive buck, I've never fallen off. And easy to get her out of it. Just want to be transparent. She is still in the learning phase, but is quickly figuring it out. I don't have much experience with bucking horses, but I haven't had a hard time staying on her. I've put her through a walk, trot, lope, trot, walk with no bucking several times. It's just something to be aware of. It may be just because the saddle isn't quite the right fit - it's a 7 inch gullet and she needs something narrower.
⬜️ Walking through water

If she was a horse with a bigger build, she would stay. Unfortunately just doesn't fit our plans for heavy trail and mountain riding. With some more experience, she is going to be the perfect kid and/or small youth horse.
