We are looking for people born between 1946-1965 to take part in a study of leisure, work, and life transitions. While many baby boomers have begun to retire, others are unable to retire or are choosing not to retire for a variety of reasons. If this sounds like you, we want to learn from you. As a participant in this study, you will be asked to participate in an online blog with others in your generation by sharing your experiences and perceptions of leisure, work, and your decision not to retire. Your participation would involve 4 sessions per year for three years, each of which is approximately two weeks. You will be asked to log on to the blog about 5 times in each session. You can create new posts and/or comment on the posts of others. If you volunteer to participate, you will be contacted by a researcher to help you set up an account and get comfortable navigating the blog. In appreciation for your time, you will receive a $50.00 gift card annually. For more information about this study, or to volunteer for this study, please contact: Rebecca Genoe Faculty of Kinesiology and Health Studies at 306-585-4781 or Email: rebecca.genoe@uregina.ca. This study has been reviewed and received approval through the Research Ethics Board, University of Regina.

The study aims to understand why migrants voluntarily decide to move to, stay and build their lives in small and mid-sized Canadian cities, so that we can enhance our understanding of migrants’ location choices, mobility patterns, and settlement following their arrival in Canada.
We are recruiting 20 participants to complete an online 5-minute survey on SurveyMonkey and of those 20, we will invite 10 people to participate in online 1-hour Zoom interviews. The survey can be accessed here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/whymigrantstay2. I'm a guitarist forming a New-Age\World\Latin music group and looking for the following musicians:
- bassist
- drumist/percussion
- keyboard (and\or accordion)
- guitar (nylon-string)I'd also be interested hearing from any interested:
- violinist
- flutist
- mandolin playerThe group would be similar a setup to Jesse Cook's band.
Looking to start off covering selected songs as close to the original recording as possible (see example links at bottom of ad). We can add additional solos\improvisation as band members see fit then see where it goes from there (e.g. original compositions, newer-celtic and maybe a bit of jazz if it can be worked in).
Depending on group consensus we'd practice together once a week. I have a large dedicated rehearsal space\sound equipment so you'd just need transport for yourself and your instrument if you want.
If you're interested, reply and send me your contact info (email or cell) and we can discuss at greater length.
I expect, due to covid and social distancing guidelines, that it will take a little longer to get things setup and running. Hoping we can get some in person practices going by late March or April.
For examples of cover music checkout:

I have a partially completed project I would like to finish that is VERY CHILDISH ADULT XXX HUMOUR. (You've been warned.)
I am looking for a local collaborator on this project of about 20 pieces. Some are small and repetitive but won't eat up many hours.

I'm a 26 year old male guitarist/song writer and over the years I've been making some songs (indie, punk) and have been working on a small project called "There might be monsters". I'm hoping this ad draws attention to some fellow musicians who'd like to get together and have a few jam sessions and maybe collaborate? Right now this is for fun but if we build enough chemistry we can see where it goes. Message me if interested.

Bancroft/Peterborough based Doom/Post Metal/Sludge etc., band, Uncle Woe is looking for a bass player, and a second guitar player.
We're currently focusing on a few singles as we get comfortable with some new equipment, and then will be gearing up to get going on our 3rd LP, and would love to be able to take this act live as soon as public restrictions permit. (We have a couple of hypothetical gigs booked for Victoria Day weekend and Labour Day weekend, as long as we can all get out to events by then.)
In the meantime, we would need to find someone dedicated enough to be able to learn their parts and practice at home until we can all get together. I have intentionally left a lot of the bass lines fairly loose, with this scenario in mind. There are some songs/sections where the bassline is pretty carved in stone, but there is also a lot of room for you to make it your own. Both Uncle Woe LPs have done some charting on The Doom Charts, and across Canadian hard/heavy radio charts. We've started cracking into US radio. Plenty of great reviews across all the right Doom-centric online pages and sites.
We've sold out almost every physical thing we've offered. We've been invited to shows abroad (pre-isolation, obviously,), and overall have a bit of an international cult following.
It would be amazing to be able to take that from just a studio based project to a fully functioning band. A few social distancing shows, maybe some online streamed performances, etc. in the semi-immediate future.
Even post-quarantine, this isn't something I ever see turning into a major world tour affair, but we would definitely be looking to play semi-regular shows between the GTA and Montreal.Musically, we're fairly progressive, for a doom band. Lots of 10 to 15 minute songs with a bunch of different time signatures and elaborate song structures. It's basically prog in slow motion, and tuned to Drop G#.
The heavy parts are all the way heavy, but there are plenty of psychedelic, post-rock passages linking it all together.
Genre-specific influences include: Yob, Sumac, Sâver, Bismuth, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, CHRCH, Occlith, Meshuggah, Sabbath, Floyd, The Mars Volta, Deftones, Slomatics, etc.You can find our previous releases at unclewoe.bandcamp.com
Production values have and will continue to improve since the first album, as the project became more serious. Plenty of new mics, software, interface, etc., even since the second album was wrapped up. Onward and upward.Give ear to the stuff we've got so far, and get in touch if you're interested.
Much thankings.
-Rain

Looking for a serious bass player with experience around 25-35. With a good attitude. We're almost a full band with guitar, drums and vocalist. With an album worth of songs. But, we're open to any new ideas and we've kept the bass parts open to a fresh perspective so you can write your own parts. We have our own sound but the vibe is Radiohead esque with sometimes the odd time signature change, but still accessible to most.
Please text - 416-550-9490
for more info.
Thanks!

READ THIS CAREFULLY
So no one gets their time wasted I'm not looking to play covers. I have several songs that I want to perform eventually and I need a good guitar player, willing to learn and play my songs. You can do what you want with your parts, I'll leave that up to your creativity, I'll stick with bass.
I'm looking for a rock steady drummer who can groove to some funk/rock bass.
The project also needs a singer/lyricist who can keep a crowd entertained between songs.
I don't care how old you are as long as you can play and contribute time and creativity.
I intend to put together a set and perform once shows happen again. I have access to a jam space with a pa and kit
